no, it's not a valid point, just because your polish friend said so. "extra" noise, possibly one the stupidest things i've ever heard.

can you understand animals yipping and barking? cars? wind? are these all this magical "extra noise"?

Ok i will explain it more simply for you.
Conversataions you cannot understand equal noise.
    See.

Why is it foreign languages specifically, rather than any conversation.
    I merely seek enlightenment.

Because simply put,if you cant understand it ,its noise.

If you have ever been to a foreign country you will understand.

Has anyone here been to a foreign country????:confused:

    LOL

Yes, do you go to foreign countries and get annoyed that you can't listen to what people are saying to one another? Because, wow, that's pathetic, and a bit creepy. Maybe you should, you know, just mind your own business.

Im sure if me and a bunch of mates went down the gaelteacht, and kept bleating on in english, the locals would just hear it as noise.

Now do you see the point im making??

    Maybe you can understand now.

Right, so you can't understand languages you don't speak? Is that your point?

To be honest, I would prefer to hear the sounds of foreign languages in my ears than the roaring and screaming i hear every weekend in our town from the "natives."

Ever go abroad? Ever cringe when you hear loud, obnoxious and frequently drunken ramblings or abusive Irish falling out of pubs? I still would opt for foreign languages than that.

OP i hope you never have to visit a foreign country, for fear of your ear drums exploding with all the "noise". I really dont see what the rational objectivity of this thread is.

Give me the 'noise' of a bunch of Spanish or Italian students or Polish lovers over.....
Heeeaw, Jacintaaaa, giz a lend of a fag wheeel yee

Do you want to know what you sound like to them?? Greedo from the Star Wars Cantina scene. For example, say this sentance while trying to listen to the sounds you make rather than comprehending the meaning if you get me.
Who'd ye nick the car off?

    :D

    They hear 'Huuja Nicta Karof'

    Think about it :D

Well theres a man with a sense of humour! wow!
Pity about the sense of perspective or the common sense.
Everyone jumped up and down to defend the foreign nationals..
and there wasnt even anything to defend them from.
I was merely making the point, that extra noise is annoying ..and anyone with common sense would agree.
Now im off to try to have an argument with my foreign girlfriend.
    Konbanwa!

Its not what language they are speaking that wrecks my head,

I just dont get why some people have to shout at one another on the phone or two feet away from one another, people speaking english do the extact same and it can be just as annoying.

Some of the Dubliners accents are just as loud and irrating, I dont think its fair to label forgieners with just this.

    Great point.

You know that noise the bus makes when the brakes are old, you know, that squealing? That's annoying.

I better go make a thread about it..

If you see this thread as a social experiment, you can really see the knee jerk anti racist attitude coming out.

Even though there was nothing racist about the original post.
