Thought Cowen was very good on Today FM to be honest.

Not that it matters, wont be voting FF no matter what. The time for a change came a long time ago.

Cowen wiped the floor with Matt Cooper this evening as he has done with M O'Callaghan on Primetime, Sean O'Rourke on Radio one and Dobbo on Six One in recent weeks. Whatever he failings he is one hell of a debater. In a way Enda Kenny must be hoping he losses tomorrow as he (Cowen) would crucify him in the leader's debate. Won’t affect outcome of election but it will make great TV.

The Daily Mail/ Cowen court injunction if revealed would finish Cowen permanently #ffheave anyone know whorepresented Cowen?

    _MacRebel Meh
If Cowen had nothing to hide then why was there an injunction taken out against the Mail publishing a story #ffheave

    @AloysiusNParker Thunderbird
Anyone heard anything about an injunction taken by Cowen against Daily Mail today? #ffheave #cowen

I very much doubt that. Biffo staying on would be a boon for FG and Labour. The voters hate him if opinion polls are to be believed, so the opposition will be delighted if he stays on. There is nothing to debate as his legacy is destruction of the nation.

One hell of a debater??? Less than five minutes into the interview Cooper had to ask him the same question twice because Cowen went off on a massive tangent about passing the budget and the four year plan, when the initial question was what made him think he was the right leader for Fianna Fáil.

    Pull the other one.

Doesn't matter who Enda debates, he'll still be crucified

What are the chances realistically of Martin losing his seat? It'd be only too funny if he got the leadership and then failed to return to the Dail

You may be a Fine Gael voter and one of the many in Fine Gael who believe Enda aint up to it. How ever bad Cowen has performed in government, I believe most would agree with me on the outcome of a TV debate with Kenny. Just my humble opinion!!!

Debate what? Cowen had years in office Finance and Taoiseach and he wrecked both. What could he possibly debate that he is a safe pair of hands at the helm. He was not able for Vincent Browne....he looked like he wanted to cry after Browne mauled him.

Kenny just can't debate, full stop, he's almost guaranteed to get flustered and confused

At the same time there is nothing for Biffo to debate.....he blew it, he has zero credibility. What can he say I would ruin the country a different way the next time.

He probably could and Enda would still find some way to come across as incompetent, he is a liability for FG.

cowen was brilliant this evening, well able to put his point across, i admire this interview,,

Well, Micheál Martin was spouting much of the same on the Six One news tonight, so I assume that's one that won't change with the leader.

I utterly refute that claim because we've turned a corner and exports are going up.

Martin is under massive pressure to hold onto his seat in Cork South Central. The constituency has altered in the last election and the town of Ballincollig was moved to the Cork North West constituency, that area is where Batt O'Keefe is based. The main urban areas outside the city in that constituency are Douglas and Carrigaline.

Here is a breakdown of the candidates and their traditional support.

FG are running 3 candidates in the constituency, Simon Coveney (incumbent), Deirdre Clune (incumbent) and Senator Jerry Buttimer. Coveney has large support in Carrigaline and the City. Clunes main support is Douglas. Buttimer has support in the west of the city.

Lab are running 2 candidates. Ciaran Lynch (incumbent) and Cllr. Paula Desmond. Lynch has large support in the south of the city. Desmond is based in Carrigaline and has been elected to the council repeatedly in that area.

FF are running 2 candidates. Michael Martin (incumbent) and Michael McGrath (incumbent). Martin has large support in the constituency as a whole. McGrath is extremely popular in Carrigaline and has a growing reputation in the remainder of the constituency.

The Greens are running Senator Dan Boyle. Traditionally has support in the south of the city.

SF are running Cllr. Chris O'Leary. A former green O'Leary has large support in the east of the city and is known for his hard work in working class areas.

Here is how I see it going.

FG 2 SEATS - Simon Coveney will easily be elected and his transfers will see Deirdre Clune over the line. Jerry Buttimer will put in a strong performance but not make it.

LAB 1 SEAT - Ciaran Lynch will be elected. Desmond will get support in her own area but not much outside that.

SF 1 SEAT - Chris O'Leary will take a seat. Being a former green he will take a large vote from Dan Boyle. He will also take votes from traditional FF supporters who can't move themselves to vote FG. That with his own core support will see him over the line leaving the two FF candidates to fight it out.

FF 1 SEAT - Too close to call. FF will lose massive support all over the constituency. It's where that vote is going to go is what will make the difference and will cost FF a seat. Michael McGrath is getting more and more popular. It will be dog eat dog in the run up to this election in this constituency.

Greens - Dan Boyle will probably buy a new laptop to continue tweeting :)

I hope he does as well :)

FF stay with a lame duck Taoiseach and the majority of their TD's supported him with the party split. The perfect storm of electoral disaster :)

Exactly,Both Cowen & Martin say they have done the maths with regards the tomorrow's ballot and both reckon the will win?,explains why or economy has gone down the tubes.

I agree,I would rather Cowen than Martin...although both are a waste of space.

Hanafin has just lost the opportunity to grasp the leadership there tonight. She was as decisive and as comforting as a limp sweaty handshake.

It must be soul destroying for loyal FF members when they see the array of so-called leadership talent they have in Dail Eireann.

She came across as patronizing, especially to the student. She will blow with the wind and with the likes of her calibre for FF leader Biffo has nothing to worry about.
