pedal board material

Okay, so

I've decided to not to spend € 150 on a pedaltrain pro pedalboard and decided to build my own, at this stage I,ve figured out all the measurements, wiring size, etc. I pretty much have it planned down to a tea.

Only problem is trying to figure out a material that I should use to build the board,

My design is very similar to the pedaltrain pro

It needs to be light, strong, not really bendy and still work out cheaper than €150 pedaltrain pro.

My first thought was quater inch plywood,but i dont like how that bends and any thicker gets too heavy, was thinking about MDF.

Any input would be helpful???

MDF would be fine, and it's quite cheap too.

Loads of people have made these into pedal boards. The slats work like a Pedaltrain too.

I have one of those gorm boards, if you plan to make it into a pedaltrain-esque board, you have to re-position the slats and trim them down to thread the cables through the gaps, unless you're using pancake connectors.

MDF swells with moisture, if anyone spills a glass of water or a pint on it, it's finished. I'd use ply much stronger, will put up with more abuse, and moisture will take an age to affect it.

I made mine out of ply... It wont break. I promise you that. The screws will fail long before the wood.
