I've got a sneaky suspicion that if Daithi and Paul Galvin met up they would get on very well...yes, VERY well indeed...if ya know what I mean, eh? eh?

    ...heh heh heh.

Jesus you're a bit OTT, the thread is about Daithi O Shea, I wasn't speaking for "we" and I wasn't reviewing the Rose of Tralee, I was refering to Mr. O'Shea's lack of class. A person interviewing people for TV (or moderating a forum) should have some class, not always looking for a cheap or easy laugh...
So hold on.. so are you reviewing me or Mr O Shea in that statement?

Gimme a break.. the guy's "lack of class" (as you put it) has nothing to do with his hosting or interview style.

The guy plays up the regional thing.. and maybe flirts more than he should. But there's far more unprofessional (and even unclassy) TV presenters on RTÉ (that ditz on Cafe 2.. or whatever it's called.. who keeps reading Twitter texts for one).

Speaking clearly means we sound like foreigners?

He does speak clearly, he wouldn't be a presenter if he couldn't. The problem is your prejudice of someone with an accept, particularly an Irish one.

No, he doesn't. He really really doesn't. RTÉ has loads of rubbish presenters because they haven't a clue.

And, as others have point out, it's not just thing, it's the cringe-worthy way he carries on.

How can I be prejudiced against Irish accents when I have an Irish accent?

For a person who plays up his accent so much it beggars belief that he is the very person who took the proverbial out of Imelda May's accent and left her stunned in an interview.

Oh dear, when did this happen?

Poor Imelda though, every interview I see with her, she's patronised about doing SO well, despite being from the Liberties. Imagine?

Prefer his accent to an annoying D4 dickhead accent to be honest. At least a strong kerry accent is irish.
