Load Balancing

Hi

Im looking for some help on load balancing. I'm doing a project and basically its going to a front end web server hosting a WordPress site. The data from the site is going to be hosted on two back end servers using MySQL cluster. I'm going to have to implement a load balancer between them. I need some help on the load balancing in the form of how is the best way to do it and what to use to do it??

Any help is gratefully appreciated.

There are alternatives to haproxy & keepalived but should give you a starting point.

maybe look at pen might be good enough for what you want to use or balanceNG which is free for I think 3/4 machines

or you could get fancy with carp/hoststated on OpenBSD

While the higher end hardware load balancers are pricey, there are a few companies offering more reasonably priced ones these days that might save you time / headaches
