Howard Webb may as well throw on a Utd jersey when it comes to this fixture, thats the second nothing penalty he has given them against us in 2 matches

The referees are really supposed to wear the regulation officials gear, I dont think hes allowed wear the jerseys of any clubs while officiating.

Definite penalty. Made contact with the player and didn't get the ball. The sad thing about the game is that a player has to go to ground to get the ref to enforce the rules once you're in the box.

Fletcher unlucky to get a yellow there for me.
    Lively start all the same.

Made absolutely no effort to get the ball. Well done Webb for booking him for that, gets away with that shít far too often. It'll render his game useless for the next 80 minutes now as he won't be able to go around fouling as much as he usually does.

As for the peno debate, I don't think it was one myself, but the ref did and that's all that matters.

Kenny out. Roy Evans is the only man that can save you's now.

That penalty has really made me despise football.

What would Berba do if he came up against Paul Galvin or Paul O'Connell...

By the letter of the law its a penalty, but not by the spirit of it.

I might as well watch Dancing on Ice, at least Katonia will get stuck in!!!

I meant in terms of Kuyt blocking him of initially with hands into his chest, just thought it was a bit of a nothing to get a yellow for considering how heated these games can get and how Webb approached the World Cup final.

especially when that player takes an extra step and then theatrically throws himself to the ground

The ref may not have noticed the contact but for that.:D

United having to resort to longish balls in the last 5 minutes. Not a good sign.

I'd hope he'd realize he's playing the wrong sport.

in fairness TheMuppet didnt make the rules

    *a muppet may have though

Its the way the sport has gone in the last while and personnally I've giben up careign about footnall over the last 18 months. I got back to playing rugby and withing weeks my interest in playing and watchign football had started to drift. At this stage I onyl bother watching football when I'm sitting here and it's on. I wont go out of my way for it. Up tp the season before last I travelled over a couple of times a year too. Theres just so much to dislike about it now and its easy to turn away when theres something else there . Dissallusionned would probably be the best way to describe it. The sport needs an overhaul on plenty of levels.

So Berbatov was doing it in protest or in some reaction to Gerrard yeah? Otherwise whats your point? He cheated. The fact that others might do it doesnt change anything.

Football absolutely has to introduce video referees.

All strikers would have dived in Berba's position.

The sport turns honest players into dishonest ones.
