I've been listening to the analord series from Aphex Twin lately. Really great set of EPs.
Theres a bootleg version out with some different tracks as far as I can tell. Quite good. Both these have similar melodies.

He made the whole series only using analogue gear. All Roland boxes, sh101, various esoteric synths he collected. Afaik theres no digital equipment from the tracks to the pressing of the vinyl (obviously not the case for the CD/MP3s).

I first listened to this compilation before exams, thinking it was chillout music..
I realised my mistake quickly, it's dark, intense stuff.. This track is quite nice though.
Aphex Twin at his most sadistic will do nothing to abate pre-exam stress however..
