What happens if you fail a resit?

You have to repeat the module in the next semester.
    4. What if I fail the resit opportunity?

Students will be offered a repeat of the module in the next available Semester. A grade of D- (if you pass or better) is awarded for a second or third repeat attempt of a module carrying a grade point average of 2.0 irrespective of the actual grade awarded.

Smart answer would be: Then this course isn't suited for you

I haven't had to resit so far, compensation ftw!

You only need 40% to pass any exam.

Resit exams are graded on a Pass or Fail basis, with a Pass being equivalent to a D in GPA terms (iirc). So it doesn't really matter whether you get an A or a D in the resit as the grade is capped. You can decide whether to adjust the amount of time spent studying accordingly (or not)..

Unless it's an exam with a 50% pass mark.
