I've just bought a Martin OMC 1E and have been told that I should consider having it custom set. does anyone know what the benefits are?How much it costs? whats involved? Who can do it? Any advice would be much appreciated.

It just means get the action down to where you like it and with the guage strings you want, work on the nut if it needs it, work a bit on the bridge to get the action right, truss rod adjustment!

But to be honest with a new Martin is should have no issues that need fixing/adjusting, maybe a slight lowering of action if you want it. How do you find it to play now? If you like it then there is no need to change it.
