Just wondering what level of Irish would you expect from someone in 5th class? I notice from the homework that it's mainly spellings and filling in missing words but very little sentence construction. Any thoughts?

Is this in a work book or in a copy?

All in work book - that's the only irish that comes home anyway.

I wonder if it a spelling workbook rather than an "ordinary" workbook?Would you be happy to post the text name here or even if you want to pm me?

Tried to pm but can't as I havn't reached my quota of posts!!

It's 'Fuaimeann agus Focail 5'. My son says he also has 'Inis Dom', although he has never brought it home.

F+F is solely a spelling workbook. Emphasis is on seeing the words repeatedly. hence so much fill in the blanks/crossword type questions. Inis Dom will deal with the grammar/reading/writing aspects of the curriculum.

Not a fan of spelling books at all. Inis dom would certainly be better, but it's funny it doesn't come home.

Can anyone recommend a website or PC game to help with Irish?
