    Anyone know where to buy the Enfer BVD Test kit.

    If so how much does it cost?

    Is it worth the expense?

    Any other advice re BVD testing?

    if you contact enfer directly they deliver it to you. The tags have to be paid for upfront but includes the cost of testing. The cost depends on the number of tags you order with bigger numbers being cheaper, can/t remember exactly but think its 4 or 5 euro, however you have to purchase the taggers as well the first year and I think thats about 28 euro.

    It is DEFINITELY worthwhile testing for BVD PI's even if you vaccinate, cos you want to make sure your vaccination is working and if you are not vaccinating you probably should be once you've identified any pi's

    Animal Health Ireland are currently looking for submissions regarding the best approach to BVD.This is the link;

    Some links to Information videos too;

    Anyone have any idea on what might happen? I was going to test for BVD too, but I'm wondering if it would be better to wait and see.
    They may role out a national programme! ;)

    The powers that be, may decide it cost effective to rid the country of it entirely, like the scandinavian countries did. Recession or not, it might happen.

    It's a real head-scratcher of a disease.

    wait and see won't work if you run into problems its too late. I really doubt they are going to come up with the money to do a national eradication programme, the only reason they have 1 for tb and brucellosis is because they can be transmitted to humans and also for export reasons.
