    Rumours circilating that duty is going up, taking effect tonight.

    Supposedly there is an announcement at 14:00 today.

    Get ready for queues across the boarder!!:D

    AFAIK it's impossible unless it goes through as part of the budget.
    You can't just raise rates willy-nilly otherwise how can businesses plan?

    Typical of recent baseless rumours.

    Of course, all they would need is a Dail motion and for it to be included in the Finance Act - which is typically passed weeks, if not months after the budget announcements.
