I don't think UPS work in Ireland on a Saturday full stop. I am not 100% on it though..

    Thanks for your E-Mail.
Your estimated date of delivery is in calender week 48. Current Week is 46.

Got the bike today anyway,I'm well happy with it.have not had a chance yet to take it on a good spin, just had a short test spin to see what it's like.the only thing I might do is change the stem on it.other than that it feels like a great fit.first time trying out Sram to the Apex groupset seems very good, good shifting, and the brakes are better than the fsa ones on my cube.can't get over how massive the cassette is its a 12-32.the bike is better looking in person than what I was expecting.all and all I'm very happy with the bike and canyons service, will post more once i have given it a longer spin.

    Well wear, fran oconnor.

I'll be interested to hear what you make of the gearing on it: 48T bigger ring is unusual. I'm considering Roadlite 5.0 or 6.0, if the budget holds up - and who knows what we're all headed for on that score :)

I ordered my Canyon 8 on the 17th.... still waiting for it to be shipped. Dont know why its taking so long.. I would have though it would be quicker than 10 days to put it in a box, with it being available immediately online?

It says on the site that the AL 8.0 isnt ready for shipping until week 50 between size 54 and 62..mine was here a week early.i have to say it'll be worth the wait,if the 5.0 is anything to go by..

I think that he ordered the Grand Canyon AL 8.0. If you ordered it in black DHFrame I guess you'll just have to drop them a call or an email to see what the hold up is. Just kick started my order today for an AL 6.0 using the BTW scheme. Can't wait!!

Got confirmation of receipt of payments for the GC AL 6.0 today so we'll see how long it takes for delivery.

@ DHFrame - You get your AL 8.0 yet? If so, have you taken it out yet and what do you make of it?

Regrettably I am still waiting for it to be shipped?! I ring them every other day now and I am still being told you will receive the UPS tracking email in the next couple of days. They have till tomorrow evening then I am going to start thinking about cancelling. And I will tell them that also. Something went wrong with my order, clearly, what I think has happened is, I ordered on the 17th, and they fuc**d my order up somehow, got overtook by new people ordering and now I am way back again waiting for another bike. It happens, I don't mind but Its now nearly 14 days for something that was available immediately at the time. its annoying as I have seen how good there customer service is with my own eyes, I got unlucky I suppose. Still waiting..... but not forever either way. : ) I really dont want to cancel, its €2200 fir an equivalent Lapierre which is 2kg heavier. Will be really interesting to see if you get yours before mine which I imagine will be the case.

Sorry to hear that DH. The service which I've received so far has been pretty good however we're not at the shipping stage yet.. the race is on. I hope that you'll feel as though it was well worth the wait once you do eventually receive it.

I've been using http://imgur.com/ after another poster here recommended it to me. Once you've uploaded your images it'll give you the code to copy and paste them into your boards post.

Alternatively, use the Attachments button (attach.gif) to add your image as an attachment to the post, then hit Preview Post, and then right click on the attachment link to copy the location for it.

Then you can go back to your post and use that location as the URL for the Insert Image button (insertimage.gif). Hit preview again and the image should be embedded in the post.

Canyon are advertising that they will be giving away a free gift with every order placed before the 23rd. Any ideas what it could be? Another bike perhaps :D

lol. If they give me your bike I'll take that €10 and you can have it.

Since my order was processed on Monday I reckon that I too might have been too early to get the free gift. Hopefully not though. Given the f'up concerning your order you might as well drop them an email suggesting to include a gift in with your order. They should oblige at the very least.

Thanks for the photo tips lads -

Free gift? Bet it's a torque wrench....Good little piece of kit!

Roadlite frame/forks/headset/seatpost from their outlet store - €300. Rides really well, too good for a winter bike to be honest.....105 and tiagra mix, sram compact chainset/bb, prologo saddle, bontrager bars and pro stem.

They look a lot nicer than I'd imagined they would. The thick downtube quite resembles that of the Ultimate CF. It was a toss up between a roadlite and an mtb for me through the BTW. I went with the mtb. You'll have to stick those images up on the 'Images of beauty' thread.

Personally I think the look a lot better in Reality than they do on the Canyon Website. As beautiful as the the site is the images of the bikes are quite flat and shinier. Lovely bike.

Just got confirmation the UPS have my bike. All it needs to do now is get across the UK which is on its knees with the weather. Will update on progress times and photos. Need to change the Thread title to Canyon Bikes, Hows it going? LOL.

Just taken a call from a nice guy at Canyon telling me it has been shipped. I asked out of curiosity what the Christmas Gift was and he told me its Pedals. Maybe it appears if you add something to Shopping Cart. He said he can send me them for my troubles, but I told him I already added Pedals to my order so he very kindly said he will send something different for me.

Customer service is back in the room.

Cheers for that. I sent them an email "about my order" but enquired about the gift. Haven't got a response yet though.

I had tried that yesterday but it didn't work for me.

It looks like you'll be beating me in the race. Looking forward to those pics.

UPS are doing a sterling job on my bike delivery bearing in mind the UK is really bad with weather atm. Hopefully my package will change to Dublin tomorrow or the day after. I think its sat in a truck somewhere as it was scanned out yesterday morning at 6am! Unless the don't catch ferry's on a weekend. I am really interested in logistics now. : )

Can someone clarify the pre-payment option with Canyon:
"After we have assembled the order, you will receive an invoice with our bank details. As soon as we have received your payment we will send out your order."

So I order, they assemble and send out an invoice, I take the details and run over to the bank and transfer the money to them and then they ship? Ive no credit card and I've never bought anything like this so I'd just like to make sure this is how it works before shelling out. Thanks
