chin ball markers

    Anyone have experience of using chin ball markers to detect cows in heat? Any recommendations as to brand/cost, or indeed any other way of doing it that doesn't involve watching them all day?!

    I think chinballs only work on young bulls, I put one on an older bull a few years back and he stayed rubbing it off the ground until he broke one of the straps. It might be different if a bull was always used to it during the breeding season.

    just my 2 cents..

    If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

    At the time, 3 yr ago, it was about 1/2 the price of the local COOP.
    It's still in tact, but I had to repair it with a waist leather belt (Levi, I think) and some fishing line.:D

    Got the paint here though, mad dear too. Might be harder to get that overseas, as sending liquids and all that.

    Quality seems good to me. first one I had, so cant compare to others.

    We will be using the chin ball again this year as we just done a job in a young bull to put with the cows and found it a great job.We got our chin ball in the local co-op store and also got the paint there.
