    Will the Luas keep running??

Are the buses a waste of time in this weather??

Will people still take a gamble and cycle??

Getting to the IFSC should be interesting tomorrow....

Sigh, route 184 terminating at Bray Station? What's new about that? Do they possibly mean route 84 terminating at Bray Station, and 184 not running? They can never get one of these notices 100% right!

Also no mention of the 185, doubt that's running.

    Meanwhile, over at Irish Rail...
All routes are operating fully today across Intercity, DART and Commuter services.

Please allow extra time to reach your station due to road and footpath conditions.

In some regions of the world, people who flock to the trains when it snows because nothing else can run are called "snowbirds". Might be quite a few of those fine feathered friends out today...

All trains on the Waterford - Dublin line are operating as usual. Got drenched by a train earlier, they kick up a hell of a lot of snow! :D

:confused::confused: It always terminates at Kilmacanogue. Maybe they mean terminating at Ballywaltrim Estate, not serving Kilmacanogue (as earlier)?

    So..if the 77 isn't using Cheeverstown Rd, 56/56a/76 is?

I don't see how the 38 isn't running and the 37 is. Unless they're talking about the humpback bridge over Castleknock Station, then that'd make sense.

The bus lanes weren't gritted or salted this morning, so any busses that did actually decide to turn up were crawling along.

It's probably worth clarifying where you're talking about. The bus lanes along Oscar Traynor, D17 weren't great but the bus lanes along Swords Road, Drumcondra road, city centre and Georges St were completely clear.

Apologies, this was inbound on the Rock Road at about 8am this morning. There were no 4's at that hour, despite nothing being mentioned on the DB website however we did pass some making their southbound journey.

I'd like to praise the driver of my Nitelink on Saturday night who did a brilliant job of getting us home safely - 0030 46n to Dalkey - the snow was pelting it down at that stage and even with the numptys outside Wesley walking in the middle of the road wearing feck all and thinking it hilarious to throw snowballs at us - he managed to keep us moving. The journey took an hour as opposed to 30 minutes the previous night but just delighted he got us home safely.

Not sure what he did with the crowd who descended on him in Dalkey asking to be brought somewhere/anywhere. Do Nitelinks pick up at their termini? If not, why not?

Nitelinks stopped running after that one I think, which meant I was left stranded in town at 3:15 and had to wait til 4:55 to get a taxi on O'Connell St.

Also, Nitelinks have selected stops where they pick-up, dunno why its like that tbh, maybe its for effiency reasons ... But we are talking about DB here so that's probably not the reason.

Also, Airport Flybus wasn't running earlier and my bus was late.

Latest update from DB says 76/78a not serving Neilstown.

It's not bad at all in Neilstown - unless it's due to kids throwing snowballs (with rocks) at the bus? (they were earlier)

Waited 20 minutes for a 128 this morning. Ended up getting the 27. A 128 came about 10 minutes later anyway I believe, as someone I know arrived at school right after me.

I was on the last bus through Beaumont Hospital this evening before they were all pulled at 19.35 :( It took almost 20 minutes to get around the new route although most of that wasn't anything to do with the snow - it was more to do with bad parking and two buses not having room to meet inside the hospital.

The majority of taxi drivers should be ashamed of themselves, very few taxis around on Saturday Night/Sunday morning. Those who were there refused to pick up on the main roads into town (even though they had lights on:mad:). You can be guarenteed that they'll all be back on the streets after the cold snap moaning about there being too many taxis:rolleyes:.

I eventually got a taxi at 4.30am and the driver actually tried to rip me off when I got to my destination. The fare was €12.40, but the driver thought I was drunk and turned the meter off as soon as we reached my destination thinking that I didn't catch the price on the meter. He then demanded €15 off me!! After an ugly stand off I made sure that he only got €12.40 off me, I also took his number and I hope he can expect disiplinary measures off the regulator since I reported the prick! Absolutely disgraceful conduct:mad:.

I was getting the 145 home from Nassau st this evening and got to the bus stop at about 18.15 to see apparently all the 145's only going to Bray Dart station. After the 2nd of these appeared I decided to get on one and hopefully get on a non-relief bus in Bray as there was no mention of early terminations of the 145 according to dublinbus.ie which was being updated approximately between every 5 and 15 minutes with updates of changes due to the weather.

Got to Bray eventually and got off opposite Superquinn assuming there would be another 145 along in a while. in the space of about 15 min, two other 145's appeared both terminating at the Dart station along with several other out of service buses. I walked up the main street to McCarthy's and after a wait of 7min (bang on the estimated time according to whensmybus.ie) I got the 133 to Kilmacanogue. Throughout this wait, it appeared quite apparent that no buses were travelling further through Bray than the dart station especially looking at the number of people either looking for taxis or running to get the Finnegans bus.

Unsurprisingly, there was no further update on the bus situation for the Bray area on the dublinbus website - only in the 21.20 update are mentions made of the suspension of service on the 184/185 buses and termination of the 84 in Bray (not mentioned in the 21.00 update). IF you believe the website, the 45A is running a complete service and the 145 is only skipping the Kilarney lane loop. While I have been home for the last 90 min or so, I strongly suspect that no services have been running in the Bray area for the evening. Why then, has the website not been updated informing passengers of such information? It has been updated regularly with other route changes.

I will be emailing dublinbus in the morning but am not hopeful of a reply, let alone of an explanation as I have yet to receive one from them in any matter apart from queries in relation to network direct (sorry, network they wrecked) Part 1.

    We're in a recession - so pre-celtic tiger taxi service.... ;)
at least it wasn't raining... :)

The southbound platform in Tara station was covered in snow this morning at 8am, so it'd be iced up shortly after, forcing customers to step down across a gap onto a guess of the surface state.
On the way home there were inch high piles of salt on the covered steps up to the Townsend st end of the station. the mind boggles.

Just looking at the DB site now, its says the 84+184 are not serving windgates hill, im wondering how the heck its getting to greystones then unless its levitaing down the hill, would it not make more sense to say its termintating in bray

the mind boggles it really does:confused:

Weds 1st December: full services operating across the network by Corporate Communications

    Wednesday 1st December - 10.25hrs

Full services are operating today throughout the network across Intercity, DART and Commuter routes.

Some services may be subject to minor delays as points are cleared of snow and ice.

    Current delays:

08.00 Belfast to Connolly delayed 60 mins - signal fault NIR

7.30 Heuston to Galway service is delayed by 60 mins due to a train failure at Ballinasloe.

10.30 Cork to Heuston service is delayed by 30 mins, due to weather related conditions.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time to arrive at stations due to poor road and footpath conditions.

The website will be updated with any new travel information. Also, please follow us on Twitter at twitter.com/irishrail for up to date info.
    http://irishrail.ie/news_centre/travel_alerts.asp?action=view&news_id=969

How can Irish rail call an hour a minor delay? surely they should have contingiencies in place for snow on points etc?

Jaysus wept Foggy Lad can you not understand the language? some services are suffering minor delays the ones listed below are not suffering minor delays they are suffering the delays listed beside them. If they were to list the delays for all trains there wouldn't be room on the site.

Dublin Bus disruptions are now posted on the front of the Dublin Bus website:
    http://www.dublinbus.ie/

In general, busses don't seem to be going above 60m asl on the southside, and are avoiding regional and access roads in other areas.
