Ah Snatch, the memories. I know that film line by line, off by heart. Reason being I was working in Australia in 2001, on a farm, pruning peach trees. The 'recreational room' in the hostel I was staying in had a VCR player, and about 4 videos - 3 shít ones and Snatch. Over the few weeks I was there I must have watched it at least 20 times. Still watch it every now and again, a classic in my book.

I havnt watched in over a year at this stage but will do this weekend now to take the gloom away for a bit:)

Was going to list a couple of favourites from that list, just can't though - too many.

great as a social study thing and you don't have to watch any soccer which is great for us non-soccer types.

    Jog on :p

    Excellent call on Miller's Crossing.

I find it difficult to find a film that I love, but that I can watch more than a few times without hating it. There's a few that have merited DVD purchase though

V for Vendetta has to be up there in my all time favourite films

Another one i forgot about the other day that should be with the war movies that gets better with every viewing & has that rare ability to come back into your mind even months after seeing for some reason, very good, slow paced & masterfully thought out & acted movie that really is one of the all time greatest,

    The Deerhunter

watched some movies over the weekend. one which i'm embarassed to say i had never seen before..

Charlie Wilson's War - brilliant film, very funny, very apt and seemingly very accurate of the Afghanistan shtuff in the 80s

Get Him To the Greek - thought this was great. Bit ropey in places but hilarious in others.

The Usual Suspects - yes you read that correct....had never seen it. Unreal. Just unbelievable. One of the best movies ever made imo. Can't believe I never watched it until now.

Funnily enough my brother was the same - he only just watched it a few weeks ago. It's an absolute masterpiece of a movie. I watch it every time I see it on tv. Never get sick of seeing it. Same with Good Fellas.

You can't really watch The Usual Suspects over and over though

Ok let's see, some more classics to add to the list:

    Oldboy - Korean mind fúck

Mary and Max - superb claymation

    Nine Queens - Argentinian heist

Glengarry Glen Ross - worth it just for Baldwin's few minutes

The Sting - surely doesn't need an introduction

The Hudsucker Proxy - picking 1 Coen brothers, and this is it. "You know, for kids"

Once Upon a Time In America - nearly 4 hours long, this is epic

In case it hasn't been mentioned before and you're obviously into your music, these two are a must.
    dIG
    and
Standing in the Shadows of Motown

I can. Love that movie. Kevin Spacey is unreal in it.

    +1 for Glengarry Glen Ross.

Seeing as we lost a legend today I'll have to include Airplane and The Naked Gun. Airplane is on in 20 mins on Sky Movies btw.

Glengarry Glen Ross is a cracking movie. Jack Lemon said it is the best cast he has ever worked with. Alec Baldwin is fantastic in it - he's a brilliant actor - although I can't stand 30 Rock.

This is one of the best bits in the movie:

I used to work for a guy who literally modeled himself on Baldwin in this movie - unbelieveable d1ickhead - used to quote the lines all the time and played clips in sales meetings

O dear, reminds me (and this is true) of a Philosophy paper on Plato I once handed up in an end of year exam and there was the expression 'most excellent' and I had no recollection in having used it to describe something from the Phaedo. I handed it up anyway and likely lost a few marks.

strangely enough, I had a philosophy lecturer in college who actually handed back your paper with his critique scrawled all over it. Some of the stuff he used to write on it was gas.
If you split the infinitive he'd draw a big Star Trek sign beside it. Took me a while to figure out why there was a load of those badges all over my essays.
