Well facts of the matter that it has been in discussion for quite sometime now.

As stated elsewhere on the forum the forum and the charters are due for an update.

Also can you please point out to me where i said i own the forum?
Im a regular user to the forum yes ia also just happen to mod the said forum that as i have said before does not mean i own it.
    Thank you.

So while these top level discussions are taking place, because you all recognise theres a problem.......you carry on as if theres no problem, and keep making the same irresponsible choices that inflame people like me. Clever.

And you can quit it with the cliched "show me where I said" crap...I'm not nine years old, and neither are you, so stop talking to me like I am. I didnt say you said you own the forum. You act like you do though. You make stupid decisions, overstep your remit and then get defensive when you're called on it. If you cant take criticism of your irresponsible mod decisions, then step down. You were quite happy to take on the position, so the least you can do is accept the responsibility that comes with it.

Right Andy, here's a question for you: why do the tags at the bottom of this page keep disappearing?

This is the off-topic thread where we all enjoy a LOL or two. All the tags have vanished in the last 20 minutes (except the off topic one). They were all mildly amusing such as "bring back kevteljure" , "guns make baby jesus cry", "a lolcat ate my tags", "SFW" etc etc.

If they were not abusive, defamatory, NSFW, etc then why do they keep getting removed? This has been happening quite a bit lately I've noticed.

If this is not an example of heavy-handed and unnecessary moderating then I don't know what is.

I await with baited breath the reason for this.

Here's an idea for the mod team... Andy, please take this one back to them, they didn't pay any attention last time.

When a thread goes to sh1t, put a note in it, lock it for a few hours to let everyone cool down, while it's locked clean it up and use the banhammer if necessary, and then reopen it.

Closing threads permanently and shutting off discussion is what's annoying people. You're in effect throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Or, for a navigation example, returning to base and starting again every time you get lost instead of stopping, getting a fix on your position, correcting and moving on.

Temporary locks - done transparently - work fine in lots of other places. It's time to try it here.

good idea B i would be up for trying this out and seeing if works out.

I actually had a massive rant here, some of you might of read before I edited it...

But I'm saving the web space, this place isn't worthy enough of my tremendous posts anymore.

And now that I've moved Moggser onto Twitter with his hilarity, there is really no reason for me to look at this forum anymore.

If there was a vacant moderater position, then it should have been made public and get someone in there we all trust, and let the mod team get a win on the board, and gain some of our trust and support back. It was the prime opportunity to play a good move.

But of course that didn't happen, instead a mod picked his mate, and although Thermo is a nice guy and will probably be an ok mod, he has the tag " Was picked by his mod mate"

And it is not like you have a vacuum of potential volunteers, there is ****ing loads of candidates.

Enjoy, I'll be over on the Starcraft community where the forum isnt full of bollocks, and the game isnt ****.

And i'm not having a go at the people that are mods, this seems to be where people get the idea that I'm constantly having a bash at moderators.

Its the methods of moderation I've a serious problem, and as a previous mod of much bigger forums then this its probably what grinds my gears although others might see me as being unreasonable and being a moan.

Just wanted to make that clear.

I'm on loose tobacco these days.

    €4 for a bag.

A 20 box lasts me just over a day, so its about 5 boxes a week at €8.50 a pop

    Thats €42.50 a week

    I am buying about 2 bags of tobacco a week, thats €8, at a push I'm getting a third, €12 a week.

Do the math, I'd prefer smoking real smokes, but couldnt be ****ed paying those shocking prices. The highest pricing in Europe I might add.

Anti smokers need to get a grip on themselves, they ruined bars and pubs as it is what else do they want to ruin.

Making us pay more wont make us stop, its simply going to drive more and more smokers to the black market picking up cigerrets and prices we should be paying.

ruin!!!!! ****in ruin ya say...get a grip your self who in the **** wants second hand smoke in your system in your eyes and the smell of your clothes and stuff when ya go home bleeeeeedin best thing they done was stop the indoor smoking

ya pissin and moanin cause ya have to slowly kill your self out doors in the cold instead of been all snug inside with the rest of us get locked of our knockers

guwann off with your long cigarettes

I hear the price of heroin and crack has gone up too. Must be a blanket increase in all addictive/harmful drugs.
<dismounts high-horse and returns from the moral high-ground>

Although, in all seriousness, that ban was the best thing ever. Smokers get to small talk other smokers in their own little area (which is often better craic than the bar itself) and the non-smokers don't have to come home smelling like a cess pit.
I swear, I've actually gotten sick due to that smell on my clothes and skin after a night out.

As a smoker I actually agree with the smoking ban. People that I know would not go to a bar because of the smoking. And now they are functioning alcoholics :D.

I know the vinters assosiation word is to be taken with a pinch of salt, but they claim a large part of the decline in pubs and bar business was the smoking ban.

As a smoker myself I dont mind being thrown out to an area, and I prefer the non smokey prescence in a bar/club.

    Just saying thats all ;)

But I just dont agree with the constant bashing of smokers like we are leapers, and they wonder why imported illegal smokes is so high : /

The forum has really gone to pot as of late. But it's not just the moderators to blame.

I prefer the smoking areas and disliked stinky smokey pubs, they had a smoking room in the airport in amsterdam and it was horrible, I much prefer how it is here, I don't smoke indoors anywhere, just like I don't drink on the bus, its just not the gentlemanly thing to do.

But the cigarette prices and minimum pack sizes here are a joke, try cutting down on cigs when you are down to a few a day, but need to buy 20 at a time.

Now I only smoke when I want to look cool.
