What is Claw Gear clothing like?

Might pick up a pair in MC* in lieu of Helikon, who seem to be delaying their new combat trousers with the integrated kneepads.

<edit> it's SOCOM pattern, not MC. The search continues.

    Lovely.
Another thread locked. Fair play lads - playing a blinder.

How about this - if some posts are breaking the charter, deal with the poster instead of stifling the discussion ? Too much effort ?

    Disgraceful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Leftyflip

To be fair T, as Andy stated, the OP requested for it to be locked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,124 ✭✭✭moggser

yeah but it was mentioned several times in that thread about if ya cant contribute about it and know what your talking about then keep your mouth closed

its a pity some didnt apply that logic to their keyboard

    So what ?

Starting a thread doesn't mean you get to stop the discussion just because you don't like where it's going. If the OP doesn't want to continue with the discussion he can opt out and stop reading - he doesn't have any right to stop other people taking the discussion further or on a tangent. And the mods should know better than to accede to such a request.

It's a bloody discussion forum - let people discuss things.

As stated above. When an Op of a thread requests a lock it is their call if any problems with their decision pm the op with your thoughts.

If you have a problem with a mod locking the threads (this has been stated before as part of boards.ie policy) Pm the mod in question and not to mention it on the public forum.

Also this is the off topic thread.

    Happy friday all :)

I assume then anyone could start up another thread on the topic? The lock seems a bit pointless to me TBH, I never heard of this OP ownership of threads or pm'ing the OP idea before on boards.

So it can be ignored ? Or maybe I should take it to Feedback so all the Boards mods can weigh in and rally round and support each other without a clue as to what the complaint is really about ?

No, I wont. I wont shut up about this, and I wont take it to feedback and I wont PM you or the OP about it - I'll discuss it here, publicly, where the entire community who contribute to this forum can see it and take part in the discussion.

If you want me to shut up about this, then ban me. But I've been a part of this community a hell of a lot longer than most people here, and I'm not going to be intimidated by the threat of a ban, and I wont just sit back and be told to go sit in a corner and be quiet.

I am a user and contributor to this forum and I wont be told to shut up just because it doesn't suit you to discuss your improper moderation decisions in public. That attitude has driven away countless well respected community members over the past 12 months, and its time it stopped.

So do your worst if you have to, but rest assured I wont be shutting up about this until the stupidity is addressed and this forum is given a chance to get back to the way it should be.

Same with me bar the love part :p I look at the news section and adverts now and then but that's about the height of it.

My opinions would follow along with Tony's above, the forum is sh1t lately and everyone knows it is, I've started spending more time over on Arnies as has Masada from here.

The guy is sharing his tech knowledge over on Arnies rather than here which is sad, Arnies is what Boards used to be like, you hardly even notice mods over there. As for tech info- if we didn't have Puding etc. we'd be done for, experienced people are leaving here and it's the same people answering questions etc. all the time.

The bottom line is: The forum is dying and it's losing members so what's going to be done about it?

    Thats exactly my point lads.

Posters like you and Flashinbluelite and others, who have experience and knowledge to impart, stop posting and contributing, and the downward spiral begins. Any discussionforum needs constant, vibrant discussion to survive.

Of course its entirely up to you guys whether or not you post, but if you feel like its not worth your while and opt out, the entire community loses out.

A little note on armies, the mods are very active you know what to look for a lot of crap goes on it is just normally deleted , also the forums are massive and you do not see a lot, if pepple think others are picky on boards then armies can be brutal

I'm sorry but boards is a goos reflect of airsoft in Ireland it always has been, for good or for bad it's linked and a good yard stick

airsoft in Ireland need to mature a lot more before anything close to armies style forum , in terms of evalution Ireland as barly got past the ' wow it's a gun ' stage, people want everything to happen over night , I'm reality it is going to take years and far more work than people think

I don't think anyone is looking for major changes or to make an Arnies clone just to be allowed to discuss airsoft on a discussion forum. It's become ridiculous even since the last thread we had debating this.

At one time the forum was great for both discussion and a laugh at the same time now discussion is barely allowed. There's no reason the forum can't go back to how it was. Step up and acknowledge the criticism, don't hide behind moderator status.

    ---

Stop nannying people, we don't need to be spoon fed, let us discuss airsoft. If people step out of line, get rid of the person not the topic.

People see that thread as a airsoft dicussion?

In the start maybe in the end it was just a keyboard warrior ego driven argument, guy I do not know what you guy where reading but the partys envoled might as well wipe theM out and just measure, as to the outside word that's what it looks like

people on boards are more worried about a good argument than anything close to an airsoft diccussion , there is nothing stopping people talking about airsoft but a bog standard airsoft thread that are the life and soul of airsoft forums go no where on hear because the vast majority of community in Ireland have no interest

airsoft in Ireland seems to need drama and if there is none people will make it
