price of manure earlier this year

    Hi just doing up the accounts for the year here trying to pay a few bills. I was wondering if anyone could give me the run down of how much a ton of:
    10-10-20
    24-2.5-10
    and nitrogen 27 %
    was making in the middle of April earlier this year i know the farmers journal always have a summary of the prices on average but i must have thrown those out!

    €230 a ton for big bag CAN in May, delivered, bulk would have been as low as €210 for a while

    i know the farmers journal always have a summary of the prices on average but i must have thrown those out!

    IMO you'd want your head examined to believe any prices in that publication. For a few weeks, they were saying that car diesel was making 118c/L. I drove from Cork to Newry and Cork to Mayo one week and the cheapest diesel I saw anywhere was 119.9 in Tralee. Maybe their price is for 1000 Litres delivered with prompt payment, but it should be specified as such.
    Something tells me that the average fertiliser prices quoted in the Journal would be quite a bit lower than what was attainable at the time by your average farmer.
