reinstall i tunes

    Hi all not sure if this has been covered sorry if it has ,recently after someone was messing about with pc at home :rolleyes:,when I try to open i tunes I get message saying i tunes component is missing please unistall i tunes and reinstall it .So after the uninstall i get as far as 8% of reinstall and then it stops and will not install any further ,has any one else had problem like this or am I alone any help on repairing this issue would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance ,im on winxp service pk 3 .

    You could try a 3rd uninstaller .That may remove something corrupt that may be left behind. What error is the installer displaying?

    Please excuse my ignorance wat is 3rd installer (sorry).Idont actually fget an error message while I attempt to download it just starts and gets to 8%of download and then stops but continues as if its downloading.Even today i started the download this morn and when i returned home it was at8% and had stopped thanks for your reply .

    3rd party is using a separate programme to uninstall.
    Try a programme called Your Installer. It removes some stuff the regular installer may leave behind.
    Are you saying it stops installing or it stops downloading?

    hi and thanks for your help so far ,it stops downloading it remains at 8% but the download logo appears as if it is still downloading but even after several hours it wont finish .

    Have you tried downloading from a different source?
    Try this.

    Just download & save to desk top first & see what happens.

    Hi again :o same story gets to 8%and stops thanks for your help on this but maybe its a prob with my pc lol so will just have to do without i guess

    Have you tried an uninstaller?
    [edit] Have you another PC to try download it to?
    Then copy to desktop & run.

    hi ya again , repaired registry and then it downloaded :o seems that its something to do with a file path that wont delete or uninstall with rest of i tunes thanks for help sorry to be pain .
