He used to do the Adrian Kennedyesque night show on Cork's Red Fm before being moved to the morning slot, was pretty poor stuff to be honest.

I meant to say that his 252 show was good when I was 12 :D

The Station was based in Trim near the Summerhill roundabout. The transmitter is still located near Summerhill. There was so much contraversy when the tower went up loads of protests etc. Then the TV's went a bit fuzzy for a time and the mast was blamed for that. Did you know that Robin Banks now does the voiceovers on Mythbusters.

Didnt Rick O'Shea used to do "The Love Shack" just after 11 on week nights? Lol, some soppy tragic love letter and then 2 songs the sender requested after...haha oh nostalgia...

Atlantic 252 was merely a passer by.

Long Wave is for BBC Radio 4, great to drift away to sleep with, listening to A History of the World in 100 objects or the book of the week, Sailing By and then the shipping forecast. Bliss.

Looking back now I realise just how crap a station it really was.
Same songs repeated over and over and loads of ads, plus the annoying american accent jingles.
(that describes most Irish stations though)

Long wave is also for Europe-1, France-Inter, RTL and Deutschlandfunk, stations I like to have on in the background.

    Radio Luxembourg ftw.
Brilliant listening to 5 seconds of a song, missing 5 seconds, then it coming back in for...you guessed it...5 seconds.

You're right. Radio Limburger was where is was at back in the 80s. I spent many a night having difficulty trying to tune in properly back in the wesht. This was when we had only RTE1 and FM2 on radio and same for TV.
