I've just heard news that Eyedea has passed away. In my opinion he was one of the most gifted MC's/artists I've ever heard and is someone that I regularly listen to.

There is some more info here:

In this crazy hip hop world of ours, we have lost a few talented people our the past few years, but this is the first that has genuinely had an effect on me.

Condolences to his family and friends.

By The Throat is a superb album, and I think I have you to thank for getting me into it Boom Bap.:)

However this is tragic news, not only is it such a young age, he is genuinely an exceptional talent who further releases were something to look forward to.:(

I really must track down their previous two albums:(:(.

Besides the Eyedea & Abilities albums, he also has a solo album under the name Oliver Heart which is excellent.
Along with that he also was part of a group called Face Candy which is experimental rock/punk/hip hop. I think they only released one album also.

As far as By The Throat goes, i constantly listen to that album. I only recently picked up a physical copy in Germany, and was delighted when i found it.

    Loved the 3 E & A albums.
