PPSN/Passport application

    Sorry if this is in the wrong place, mods feel free to move it.

    Basically I live in London, moved over here when I was a child, so I was never issued with a PPSN number. Now I'm trying to apply for a passport and the form is asking for my number..

    I've looked online and all I can find is info about obtaining it in Ireland, obviously I'm not in Ireland so thats proving difficult.

    I'd be grateful for any help.

    The Application Form Notes state: "Applicants resident in the State must enter their PPSN." You are not resident in the State, so just leave it blank.

    If you have been in Ireland since you were a child you should have a ppsn
    number. Call in to your local social welfare office and ask them to check for you. Bring identification with you. If you do not have a ppsn number they will help you apply for one.

    lol I missed that I'll check the notes again to make sure, I feel a bit of a tit now, its a familiar feeling.

    My bad must have been confusing, I haven't lived in Ireland since I was 6 or 7. I live un London (England) so I don't really have a local office.

    Contact Client Identity Services, they can check if you have a PPS number, and if not and you need it can issue PPS numbers to non residents

    Thanks for that, after looking though the application notes again it says non residents of the state are not required to enter the number.
