    There were rumours going around last week about it re-opening in Kevin St. So I brought in the gear and was in there today, very quiet.
    No memberships being taken until they have the full staff compliment, so they're selling 5-Visit Passes (€10 for students).
    Some of the old staff are back, others couldn't be bothered, so there's a vacancy advertised on the DIT website.

    What have they got in de gym? Have they free weights and machines or just treadmills and that kinda stuff?

    there are dumbells and one adjustable bench, a few treadmills, crosstrainers, rowing machines. all the usual machines too (chest press, shoulder press, leg ext., leg curl, leg press) and a pull up thingy.

    no bench press or lat machine though, which is crap

    i got my free first visit today! i am so happy they are open. i know its not the best best gym in the world but 45€ for 3 months it is some deal. it beats 50€ a month in westwood.

    Depends how you define crappy really! They have water, the water is hot and they have good pressure. All the qualities of a good shower to me

    Medicine balls - date back to Persia 3000 years ago;
    Kettlebells - Russia, 1704
    Tyres - 1846

    Up to which date exactly?
    These hardly seem like 'cutting edge' fitness technology...

    You should mention that you are a REP for the gym rather than making it sound like you just happened to pop in one day...

    well i just happened to pop in one day at some stage didnt I??

    Either way, yeh maybe i shouldnt of used 'cutting edge' but what I was comparing the gym to was my previous experiences with gyms,

    I guess what you cant argue with is that it offers a greater variance of a workout, unlike in carlilse and alot of other gym chains where everything is standarised where I was a member through school, its just cardio - treadmill, rower , cross trainer , bikes and then weights machines, squat bars and a free weights section. But down in Raw they have like all this stuff i didnt even know that does a good work out, medicine balls, a big huge tyre you can try flip down the track, Olympic rings, climbing ropes that sorta stuff.

    I'm not trying to make a sale here, was merely offering students the knowledge of Another gym down the road from college where they can get a workout which does student discounts.
