    Update:

Went out for an easy 10 last night and ran solid 9 min miles, just as I came to the end my calf started to behave as it did pre physio last week so when I got home I got stuck in with a tennis ball - will keep at it until Saturday just to be sure and Sunday's LSR will tell if it's effective.

Well done on the 9m. Fantastic. Pity about calf at end but rest and some pain inflicted with tennis ball should do the trick.

My latest running development is Arnica Gel. It's brilliant, the Kinesiologist recommended it to me and i've also been talking to a few others who have said it's brilliant for anything especially muscle/ligaments etc. Runners must-have!!!

What does it do? Looking forward to your run tonight?

Ease and soothe aching muscles after physical exertion. A traditional herbal medicinal product for use in the symptomatic relief of muscular aches, pains and stiffness, sprains, bruises and swelling after injury, exclusively based upon long standing use as a traditional remedy.

It's highly toxic so do not apply to open wounds. That Kinesiologist said it's brilliant for muscle tissue/damage but it now seems i'm the only one who was not using it apparently.
If an Ironman recommends it, it must be good!

Am i what, i can't wait for hometime to get out and run...

Also Tiger balm helps too mrslow. Rub it in and massage the calves by forcing your thumbs into the calf as hard as you can take.

Its what i've been told to do and you get used to it.

Yep i have used Tiger Balm during college, it's good too, but i'd mainly use it for chronic injuries and deep sports massage.

Have to say i'm converted to Arnica, my calf bruising has nearly totally gone and it also (which i needed) helps to reduce the toxins left after the injury. I'll be keeping a big tube around even after the marathon;)

Wasn't feeling it last night, after 3.2 I had to stop as I felt nauseous, had a drink and then ran the quickest route home.

    Total 4.64 in 41 mins. :(

In fairness not every run is going to feel great, i hate those horrible small runs now, i do be exhausted after them. Much prefer longer ones, although not so sure about Sunday's longer one - that might be just a tad too long to enjoy;)

You'll be fine, after your rest you could do the full 26.2 on Sunday ;)

Nooo, i need you to talk nacho's and all things nice to me on Sunday:(. No seriously though, I'm sorry to hear that! Although just to let you know i'm glad i took a full week off. And take whatever time you need too. It won't harm you, if anything you'll be better after some treatment and rest and will be 100% for DCM day. I'd rather that than pushing through it and then for it to keep cropping up.

YOU WILL BE FINE;), and you will be back training once the physio sorts you out. My new phrase is "focus, focus, focus". You have to as there'll always be something in the way of your goal, you have to keep fighting for it!!!

Let us know how you get on...

Met up with JEmily, The Wexican and James Howlett on Sunday morning, the others were going for 20 but I was only going out for 15 and for the first time since I started running I ran farther than I had planned, I was really enjoying it and thought after 20 last week I'd be in ribbons. Mr Howlett broke off at 12 miles as the pace was too slow for him.

Finished up with 17.8 having met a man struggling to get the last half mile in on his 20 who then thanked me for 'helping' him to the end, that was the cherry on the cake for me and off home I went to cut the grass, wash the windows and the floors in preparation for little Mr. Slow's 3rd birthday party today.

Daddy's neither limping nor walking funny I'll have you know, that only happens when drunk - which never happens anymore:( partly due to this stoopid little running addiction I have ;)
