What do you guys think of this dress?

I really, really like it, but it is €53 euros (including postage) so I don't know if it is worth it.

I really like it. The only thing I'd be worried about would be the sequins falling off. I never really buy embellished stuff because of that

    wow, that's gorgeous!

Thanks guys, will see if I can find it in one of the Dublin stores and see what it's like 'in the flesh', if I like it enough, I'll order it.

All the recent posts in the 'what I wore today' thread are fantastic. I think I'd like to recruit everyone who posts there to dress me in the mornings. Or to just root through my wardrobe for me and put together outfits I wouldn't think of. :pac:

For anyone interested in the above dress:

I tried it on today (In Miss Selfridge in Jervis St) and it is fabulous, but unfortunately it is slightly to big on me across the shoulder and to have it taken in, would just ruin the the beading/embellishment on the dress.

I'm back again for more advice lol:o (Yes, I am useless at putting outfits together!)

I found this top while rooting through my wardrobe today lol (along with a ton of other clothes, I had forgotten about them) and I am too keen on the neck of it.

It is like a polo neck.

Would it be possible (or would it destroy) the top if I had the polo-neck removed?

Some pics of the top, to give a better idea?

    Back:

    Close-up of neck/sleeves:

I saw some shoes in Heatons in town that are White and Purple (the purple in the shoes isn't the same as the top, but you wouldn't notice the difference unless you were looking closely) and I was thinking I could wear the top, a white skirt (I need to get one though) and those shoes?

I can't find the shoes on the Heatons website so If I am in town tomorrow or Friday I will grab a pic of them, if I can.

Thanks for any help (again lol!).

Well if you're not going to wear it with the neckline as it is you may as well have it removed and see if you like it then, you haven't really lost anything like.

I wouldn't really put a white skirt with it, think that might look a bit tacky or something. How long is the top? It looks fairly long from the photo, would it cover your bum? If so, I'd go for the top, leggings and then the shoes. Are the shoes flats or heels?

I LOVE Meryl Streep in that film! She's so funny. "No no, that wasn't a question..." Amazing!

I have the bean necklace that Anne Hathaway wears in a good few scenes. Adore it :)

Yeah, she's just brilliant in it! I adore everything about the movie really. I love the boyfriend, Nate, he's so pretty and sweet <3 And her hair actually, so shiny!

Her hair is amazing!! If I had the money I'd go for a sleek blow dry every week, sigh! You should check out himself back in 1998 in this film The Adventures of Sebastian Cole. He was pretty then as well!

It's not that I won't wear the top with the neckline, it's just that I am not keen on the neckline of it.:o

The top only cover half my bum lol & as it doesn't fully cover my bum, I would be self conscious about wearing legging with it as I am not keen on my rear-end. I have some legging though, so I could try it on with them & see how it looks. Actually, I just thought, I could try the top on and turn the neckline in/down & see how it looks?

The shoes are heels, but aren't very high.

    Thanks for your help!

That colour purple should be worn with a dark wash skinny jean. Dfinitely not a white skirt!

It seems to be quite a light jersey material that has a bit of stretch in it so you would need to get it professionally altered.

    Thank you.

You are right, it is a light jersey material and it does have a bit of stretch in it. I would only get it professionally altered, I would never tamper with it myself. I am useless as sewing lol.

Maybe if it was the 60's and people hadn't yet realised that smoking is bad for you as well as unattractive and smelly.

 Duh! One of the first things we learnt as teenagers was that smoking makes you look cool! Then I learnt how sh*t lung cancer actually was and packed it in. Looks cool in mad men though, Don could have ball disease and still be HOT! My boyfriend has been smoking for about twenty years now and I can tell you compared to his brother (who's actually older) his skin is ruined from it, especially around the eyes.

Looks like the green eyed monster is rearing his ugly head.
You just wish you were as cool as us smokers. Blatantly.

Enough. Not going to allow this to turn into an us vs. them over a smoking issue. I have enough of that malarky in the Smoking forum.

Meanwhile, back on track, did anyone go to the Vintage Fair in DunLaoghaire this weekend?
