From the description of the news story, the PM got re-elected to continue IMF imposed economic reforms.

In relation to Ireland, Latvia's population has copped on whats needed to be done to bring their economy back to growth but can we pray that Irelands populace of which a high proportion are still in denial can cop on too?

    Fingers crossed i hope :)

Well, if Irelands corporation tax ever does rise, I doubt they'll make much money from it, as a lot of the American companys (HP, IBM, etc) will go elsewhere, and thousands of people will be unemployed.

I'll be one of those unemployed too if that happens the_syco. It just galls me that there is a huge portion of the population here that still don't realise how bad the situation really is and yet our Latvian cousins fully realise the situation in their country and want to continue on the path to recovery.

IMO Latvia is Ireland before the celtic: low wages, in a recession, getting it's sh|t together, and not using euros.
