So, my band are having serious trouble trying to get an all ages gig .
Laws and so on have been preventing it from happening and we've tried numerous venues, but no luck.
    Anyone know anywhere at all?

    Cheers.

    The venue.
Told me to ring back in a couple of months.
Said he wasn't interested in doing them, but I guess this changes things?

a lot of venues are put off by underage gigs since they dont make as much cash and theres always the chance a few already tanked up teenagers will get them done for underage drinking. Usually more hassle than its worth. the vault in carlow works well as its a youth club

The good bits in dublin does underage gigs i think its around €500 to rent out with a engineer and all though so your going to have to charge a little extra if you want to make your money back.

    Wow 500euro.

OP if I were in your situation I would ignore pubs. Find somewhere locally where your friends will be able to go. It can be a youth club, school hall, anywhere. See how much it would cost to hire a small PA system (definitely less than 500euro). Failing that have you considered an acoustic gig? That would be do-able in someone's house.

Find if there's a local youth club that would let you put on a gig. You'll get an audience but you'll have to work out how to get a PA organized. You won't need a large PA - just something to give your vocalist a chance to be heard above the guitar amps.

Good luck and don't be put off.

    Guys!
This thread is from way back last year :)
We're all good now, done a few underage gigs in the Good Bits.
Even had a bit of a residency going on in it where played every 3 weeks or so and got a good deal - way less than €500 anyway.
Thanks for all the response though :)
If a mod wants to lock this, do!
