An Anime character as a GF? I feel that my current GF is very like an Anime character in her own right (if you ever met her, you'd know), but if I were to choose from Anime, I'd go for one of my favourite characters:
Captain Yurika from Martian Successor Nadesico. A hilarious and fun character and one of my favourites in Anime.0 -

As a bf, definitely Sôbi Agatsuma from the Loveless series, he's such mysterious and overpowering character, tender yet mature at the same time.
I don't think I've come across any female manga/animé character that would suit me as a gf 0 -

I always like a fiery gf with spirit and well, you don't get much more fiery or fierce then Lina Inverse!
Who would not want a gf who's prime goal is to kill dragons, make gold and generally beat up bad guys? On top of that she can do all those nifty things like heating up your water (fireball!), fish (fireball!), give you light (fireball!) etc.0 -
