    Hey,

I've recently purchased this device but I'm having some issues with updates. I've downloaded the update, but it fails to start when I insert the micro sd card into the device. I'm also unsure about how to update the maps, as they are quite outdated.

If anyone has had any similar experiences and can offer advice I'd appreciate it.

Said I'd give you boardsies a go before getting in touch with Kenwood ;)

    Thanks in advance.

    Shane

It doesn't look like there are any map updates available. I would run back to the shop where you bought it, and thrust it back at the shopkeeper and demand a full refund. Personally I wouldn't buy an integrated stereo/GPS, as you are at the mercy of the hardware manufacturer to get software or map updates, and frankly speaking, once they have your money, they don't tend to be interested any longer.

I agree.I got a DVD player with integrated GPS from Halfords a while back.
The device was Navsure , which seems to be actually owned by Halfords. There has never been an update available and it is not supported by Navteq, whose maps are on it.
As has been said before stick with Tom Tom or Gamin and you can't go wrong when it comes to map updates.
