Sam Rockwell. Don't know what it is but I've disliked him in everything except for The Green Mile (in which he was meant to be unlikable).

The guy from Law and Order:SVU.

    christopher-meloni.jpg

Just cannot stand him at all for no apparent reason. Just hate him.

Brendan Frasier, no reason in particular but I just find him incredibly difficult to watch

Keira Knightley - so irritating. Her pouty, wide-eyed act that she does in every film is painful to watch

    Robert Pattinson..

.. actually, the entire Twilight cast! *

    /thread

    * except Peter Facinelli.. we'll call his involvement a moment of insanity

Kate Winslet - For overacting - for picking long, boring turgid films and passing them off as intellectual and arty, for appearing entirely self-obssessed and insincere in interviews, and most of all for her ugly annoying mouth.

Hugh Grant - for being a complete knut. That about sums it up.

Gwyneth Paltrow - For winning an oscar for Shakespeare in Love.

Leonardo De Caprio - Because I've hated pretty much every film he's made in the last 5 years, I've now grown to hate him.

Bill Pullman - I'm not really sure why I hate this pr1ck, but I do. I'd love to smash his face in.

Tom Cruise - I think he's creepy and disgusting. I just can't forget about his real life personality when I watch his films, and it ruins it for me. Except for Magnolia, where his character has a similar personality. But it still doesn't stop me from wanting to cut his balls off and feeding them to him.

Robin Williams - For being mawkishly sentimental in his roles and acting, and passing it off as heart-felt emotionality. Fcuck off.

Thank you for creating this thread and letting me vent.

-edit- Just re-read title and saw it was 'for no apparent reason', in which case only Bill Pullman on my list above counts. Still, I'm leaving my reasons for the other disgusting pr1cks!.

Sarah Jessica Parker: what's her appeal!!

Please ignore the second half of the thread title and give reasons! Don't want another list thread.

re. the Sam Rockwell comment above, I'd like to add another category - actors you used to hate, but for some reason now love.

Mine would be Mr. Rockwell above and Casey Affleck. I hated both of them until I saw more of their work and loved them. Sam Rockwell is an extremely subtle actor, he doesn't go about chewing up scenes. He's magnificent in Jesse James for example, in what could have been a nothing role.

Casey Affleck's voice used to drive me mental until I got past it and discovered his talent in the same film, and also the new one where he punches the girls face in. He was proper creepy in that one. I like his ambiguous morality, and how he brings it to the roles he plays.

I hated Di Caprio for the abomination that was The Titanic, and by god was it fúckin ****.

But with some epic movies like the beach, inception, shutter island, the departed, blood diamond and gangs of new york.

He has finally become my favourite actor.

Nicholas Cage. His face offends me.

Jennifer Aniston - has she made one good film? She was particularly obnoxious in Marley & Me (which itself was a pretty crap film).
Aston Kutchner - likewise, has he made one good film? RTE seem to have bought a job lot of his films recently for their Wednesday night slot. The probably found them in some bargain basement bin.

I thought The Good Girl was fairly decent.

Ashton Kutcher is just a moron though.

    Regarding Aniston:

The Good Girl was pretty good, as was Management.

And she was in Office Space.. so you can't say she didn't feature in at least one good film.

Any of these so called funny men put me off the movies they appear in. They come across in their movies as the same obnoxious character

    Eddie Murphy
    Ashton Kutcher
    Dane Cook

As for the women - Mischa Barton (straight outta the Kiera Knightley school of acting)

Even though he's not an actor as such I find it really annoying when Quentin Tarantino ruins movies (usually his or R Rodriguez' films) by cameoing in them. He can't act so why throw the viewer off with a needless cameo

Same goes for M Night Shymalan

I can never watch any films with Russel Crowe any more because he's always obnoxious in interviews and throwing phones at people, arrogant tosser.

I never really "got" Nic Cage until i watched Bad Lieutenant.
Def my fav acting performance of last year

+ Dustin Hoffman. And Jodie Foster. Hate the way both of them talk.

Not Hollywood by any stretch but I'd like to kick that cnut John Stape/Colin Fishwick in Coronation Street.

Adam Sandler - mumbling his words through those slabs of teeth.

    Matthew McConnaughy - mutton-headed, rom-comming bastard.

Keanu Reeves but that's cause he's a crap actor. Julia Roberts, George Clooney good looks are no indication of talent, the whole cast of Fair City

ashton kutcher he cant act even stifler from american pie acts him off the screen plus he stole demi moore from me :p

Tobey Maguire - I find him really annoying. I didn't enjoy the Spider-Man films because of him. Can't root for him in them.

Christian Bale - Same deal as Maguire, though I find Bale less annoying. I could watch him in certain other films but in the Batman movies he really gets on my nerves.

I saw it some years ago. All that I remember of it was that Aniston and Jake Gyllenhaal starred in it so, for me at least, it was wholly unmemorable.

Ed Burns because he has no charisma. He's the anti-Bruce Campbell.

Wow, I hated films during the 90s. I don't know why, I just unnaturally hated a lot of actors/actresses. Maybe it's because they look like pompous phonies.

George Clooney, Michael Douglas, Awec Bauwin, Jodie Foster....if they were in dramatic films in the 90s, I didn't want anything to do with them! I didn't like Brad Pitt until he did Fight Club.

Also Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson, Kevin Costner, Richard Gere, Kurt Russell.....it's a wonder i could watch any film! i dunno what's wrong with me that when I see these rich pricks on screen I want nothing to do with them.

Thankfully I've been enjoying films and their actors much much more over the last decade :)

You'd have to forgive him for Toy Story tho.
