Tbh, Operation flashpoint and MW2 are different ball games. I only really play the game now if a bunch of friends are online playing it.

You should get a few second hand games and keep playing them. It makes MW2 not so annoying to play when you're getting hammered by the other team.

Fairly sure this belongs in the "MW2 MegaBitch thread - post your rant here" thread.

P.S: To answer your question, no.

Different sort of pain, but kinda. When I got to the last 70 I took a look at how long I'd played for and was sufficiently depressed and bored to stop playing for a few days. I worked out that at 32 days clocked up, and the game out since November, that roughly 1 in every 9 consecutive hours of my life (waking or sleeping) since release was spent playing MW2.

Then a few days later I realised that 32 days was only the time I'd spent actually playing online, and the overall stats (listed under Spec Ops) tells me I spent 41 days online total. Which means I spent 9 DAYS total waiting in lobbies, searching for games, and forming parties.

Since then I haven't really been able to find it worth it to go back to.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I got seriously bored of it too after a while. Although I prestiged and found it fun again for a few weeks, trying out new weapons and stuff made it feel fresher. Try it, if you haven't already.

Haven't played it in about a week and a half, but that's not cause I'm bored of it, it's due my arm being in a cast.

i think it might be the other way round.Im on first prestige at around level 36 and have none of the guns i want.So im a little pissed when i play cause it took me from when the game came out to last month to reach leval 70.Now i have to do it all over again.

I played COD4 to death and got to 5th prestige in it before stopping prestiging so I could get golden guns - MW2 came out - just never found it to be the same - was ok for a while but there's just too much stuff or something - I dunno what it is about it but it just seemed to be way harder online and not half as satisfying I quit playing after Feburaryish because as much as I tried it was just never the same as COD4

It was quite a letdown tbh :( long live COD4

Fairly bored of it now myself, maybe because I've no one to play with as they have gone to BF:BC :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,902 ✭✭✭MagicIRL

I presume the reason why its boring after x amount of time is because the game has no challange online. Im not hear to boast, But if for example I play HQ Pro - I can easily go 50/20 or even better while still taking and holding the HQ.

I don't understand how someone can get bored within prestiging 10 times. There is so many challenges to keep you going. I haven't even prestiged once as I'm not arsed but I still find the game entertaining. I'm working on completing all my challenges. Just over 10 days 10 hours game play and I'm not even close!!

People are slowly but surely fulfilling their potential, and the game starts to stagnate.

When I started playing, I was awful, I'm so much better than I was, but I'm not really going to get much better.

The trick is to stop MW2 being your bread and butter game for a while. I've been away a little bit this summer, and every time you come back after a break the game's more fun.

I'd also suggest that you don't play any FPS at all really. Get FIFA or something and just spend your gaming time doing that.

Haha around Christmas time when I got a ps3 I was on CoD damn near most of the day during the Xmas break. Same for the summer. I got nearly 10 days gametime in 1.5 months (like 5.5 hours a day average). If I had a job it'd be nowhere near that amount sadly.

I'll say it for the umpteen time.

If your bored, take a break from MW2 or any game for that matter. I despised MW2 before I got YLOD. 3-4 months later, I was desperate for many a long COD session.

Get Demon's Souls, it'll make you go running back to MW2 with your tail between your legs :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 484 ✭✭Adriatic

Being a pc player, I simply did not buy MW2, problem averted. I stuck with CoD4.

I am kinda - mean to pick up "Read Dead Redemption".. "Batman Arkham Asylum" too, but haven't gotten around to it. I was nearly there, until I start playing with a few boardsies and the craic made the game more enjoyable again..

On the plus side, by the time Black Ops comes out, maybe the above 2 will be available on Classic at a fraction of the price :D

I've been playin red dead for a break from cod. Its a great game and far less hectic. Although I am getting my ass handed to me online. Its just awesome looking in HD.

i dont have any money to get a new game:(.
But any i jumped online last night and played Snd.Havent played SnD in a while a boy its changed. What is the deal with this ninja defusing a crap. There was aslo a booster hacker person(spinning 10th emblem). And he must have done somthing somwhere. He was an absulute sponge,Watching a Killcam,i seen someone on my team sneak up behind him while he was lying on the ground and shot him in the head 3 times with a spas before he died. And he had lightweight, comando overbored. He ws running so fast, you could not shoot him then he would run at me and stap me from 20 feet away.

Ne proof of these amazing scores ? :D I've never gotten over 40 kills in HQ... probably because they never last long while im playing, cos im so beast !!

Messing aside, i think that alot of people just burn out, last few weeks i was playing alot, burnt out and got sick of the game, will play alot less for a few weeks i think. Same with any game really, play too much and you'll get sick of it... plus, i think the whole summer season is just boring for gamers in general anyway, hasnt been a good game released in like 2 or 3 months.

I didnt get bored of it i got fustrated by the amount of boosting and camping in it Hopefully when BO comes out most will leave mw2 and improve the multiplayer. I only started playing cod4 when W@W was released and there was very little camping/boosting etc

If not im moving on to MOH or BF:BC2 as im not a treyarch fan

I feel everyone's pain here. Prestiged and found myself thrown in with lobbies full of obviously legitimate Level 8, 9 and 10 Prestige players. Couldn't stick my head above cover without someone popping me from halfway across the map! Same thing happened me when I installed the Stimulus Package. Left it for a month, came back and it was much improved! I've found it's happening again now though. I know there's a lot of debate over the actual matchmaking system Infinity Ward uses, but from this it seems to me that there's a definite relationship between the time played.

I think the boredom comes from the challenge you get from a game.

Too soft; means you master it quickly and have no lasting appeal.

Too hard; and you're constantly the whipping boy and don't hang around long enough to be top of the ladder.

Just right; you are in tight games with similarly skilled players and never dominate entirely nor be trounced you will be constantly challenged and improve gradually.

I just used MW2 as a basis for Goldilocks and the 3 Bears!
