I hate the sexist comments above about women parking. I see men trying to park little cars and they havent a clue how to go about it..My wife puts me to shame when she drives...

There's something wrong if you can't even park straight in a parent and child parking space... note car beside also parked wonky!

i kinda have to disagree with this one and other similar one's in shopping centers.

i have being to LV on the worst of days and it can take forever to get a space and i don't mind people like this because they are not blocking anything... this happens quite a lot and you do get people that park half on grass half on road who are muppets.

but for these two i think its fine because there is simply no parking in LV on a day like that unless you go looking for ages for one.

I've never had a problem finding a space in Liffey Valley outside of Christmas week. Theres always plenty, just not close enough to the door for some people. The Retail park at Halfords/Currys etc is never full, either are the outskirts of the main car parks.

Bad pic and example really... There were tonnes more parked up on paths and randomly half on road and path.. like u said..
I would have taken better/more pics but i was driving around looking for a space...

That's how I did it on a previous page. I nearly think it's better to have one pic for post because people have a habit of quoting your post including pics, and often will quote a post with 5 pics just to comment on one. It's probably a little more efficient to break them out so they can be commented on separately.

    It's not post-whoring, it's thanks-whoring. More posts=more thanks.

Why do you assume that it is only women who park badly?

This is not a sexist thread - men park badly too.

Only women and old people park badly. Everyone knows this. Well, at least 99% of the time :)

again i disagree.... every part of that shopping center does be full, all around the vue/boots service entrance end, all around the M&S end and everywhere in between does be jammers.

now the retail park is never full, agreed and there is a car park (stones on the ground) when you take a left at the mini roundabout on the way into B&Q.... yes that is a car park !
Bad pic and example really... There were tonnes more parked up on paths and randomly half on road and path.. like u said..

    prove my point ?

i agree that there were probably more around the other side of that pic too just behind the building where there would regularly be cars parked next to the path on the road... luckily you can get two cars by on the road of that bit if you know where i mean.

but anyway... i stand by what i say :)

i dont mind too much about it as long as they don't block the road and/or path. :)

I dunno, I think More Quality Posts = More Thanks. Quality over quantity, no?

    Looks like I didnt.

This guy in his lovely silver (Audi or Accord, I cant remember) parked like a right auld tool in our appartment block. The other side of him is a parking space, with some stuff blocking half of it so it cant fit a full car.

I did the good deed and parked right up beside him.

Also, if any of ye remember me posting up about the GoBus guy who parked obnoxiously in our estate....
    123352.jpg

Hes back! Just blocking 2 or 3 parking spaces.

How do you know there was not more stuff parked in the adjacent space before you arrived, eg a bike or something else.

Because some of the stuff that was in the adjacent parking space was a forklift (I should of put that pic here, very obnoxious). It was well tucked away and in no way making it awkward to park so in effect, he had 1 and a half spaces to park in, and failed miserably.

As for bikes, there are no bikes in our apartment block.

Heres another in our apartment block.

Only because you asked so nicely.

I was walking at the time when i took the pic, and also ended up cropping it so some of the quality has been lost. The image isnt that bad, you can still see the shoddy parking job

I have the same phone, they pics get blurry very easily when the lens cover needs cleaning. Drives me mad... although my auto-focus has given up altogether now...

It is not sexism, it is fact: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1237236/Men-ARE-better-women-parking-Feminist-scientists-proves-sexist-motorists-known-along.html
But although they were more cautious about edging into position, it did not make them any more accurate, and they tended to end up much closer to the edge of the bays than the male drivers.

Scientists from Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany, found men were better at driving both head-on into the space and reversing into it.

However, the biggest difference was in parallel parking, where men were found to be five per cent better in their handling and positioning of the vehicle.
Researchers concluded the men had better co-ordination and spatial awareness because their brains could process the changing speed and position of the car more quickly.

Feminist scientists proves what sexist motorists have known all along

Does anybody just park right up against the drivers door (literally a couple inches away) of a badly parked in a car park which forces them to get in the passenger door and climb over?

I do and I've no hesitation doing it but there is a risk that the moron will scrap your car reversing out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,772 ✭✭✭Midnight_EG

Nope, I park correctly, slap bang in the middle of the space just because I can.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,012 ✭✭✭McCrack

Yes but what if you can't? I.e busy shopping centre car-park and the limited available spaces are tight because of moron parking...

there's room to get your car in but your going to have to put it tight up against the moron parker so you can get out...that is quite satisfying

Cherrywood Ind estate. Without fail every day there will be someone parked where the A class is. not a space, driving area.

Total Fitness Sandyford, plenty of empty spaces around too.
