gsm ethernet/serial modem

Hi guys,

I'm currently working on a project which will require the transmission of small amounts of data from remote areas.....I hope to use a data logger and am told that if I can get a gsm ethernet (or serial) modem (2.5G or 3G) I will be able to set the system up so that it delivers results to a web page, which I will be able to view from the office.

Can anyone advise on where I might get such a modem?

Also, anyone know of any good resources explaining how the gsm data transmission system would work and how to set it up?

Would you not just use a HSDPA modem (you know mobile broadband) they are cheap and freely available and would allow you to do same.

What is doing the data logging?

I've got a National Instruments cRIO 9074 for the data logging (http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/203964)..... how would I set up a HSDPA modem to deliver data to e.g. a website that I could view remotely?

Well I don't have any experience of the type of thing you are trying to do but If you get something like http://www.zoom.com/products/mobile_broadband_overview.html?gclid=CNzn_KK9qqMCFRQ8lAodcEnq3g#4506 and a compatible HSDPA modem you could plug in to the chassis via the ethernet port. Then all you have to worry about is telling the chassis where to send the data.
