Boards.ie SC2 tournament 5th of August (Signup details in here)

Hello everyone. I know somebody else has a plan to run a tournament but I thought this would be fun to do anyway. I've created the tournament ladder which people should be able to signup on here @ http://binarybeast.com/
Go to the tournament list and type in Boards.ie. You have to register before signing up and if you could write a post here on the board saying you have.

Honestly this is really just a test to see how many would be interested in a proper tournament. It only took me 2 mins to whip this together but it should still be a lot of fun if people signup. It's on a thursday night as Respawn LAN is this weekend. It shouldn't last long, maybe 2-3 hours. It's 1v1 single elimination so if you lose once your gone. Spectators aren't allowed unless both players agree to it. However players who have participated in the tournament and lost may feel free to spectate matches if they wish.

Hope enough people are interested. I'll probably need some help getting everyone on during the night so if anyone would like to volunteer that would be great. You can find me on Bnet2 @ zooM.367 or on the irc #starcraft.ie on quakenet.

EDIT: I'm aware the title says 6th of August it will be changed to the 5th. The tournament is this thursday 5th of august.

Im in! If somebody had a vent server that could be used for this it would make it 10 times easier for you zoom. Instead of going around messaging people

Should we go with just one map? Blistering sands seems to be the most played

Best place to meet up is probably IRC

Not so sure if Friday is the greatest day for it, Sunday or midweek might be better.. but will be cool if it works

1v1 can scare people off, if we get enough we should try a 2v2 further on

If people want 2v2 that can be arranged but my fear is we won't have enough players for that. If enough people sign up we can defo have a 2v2 tourney. If people could spread the word that would be great and make it easier to get some 2v2's goin.

what if esports.ie adds teh 25e random-gamer prize on the tourney ? would that make it less scary for ppl to join this FUN 1v1 tourney ?

EDIT: Lets see how it goes this thursday, if everything goes well, we will donate small random-winner prize ! Remember its a FUN Community Tourney!

What time you think we'll be starting? i think 7 is a good time, get people just after dinner or after work, and finish up early enough so people can sleep for work the next day. 4 hours should be enough time imo.

It is starting at 7:00pm. If people show up on time it will only take 2 hours :P
