    I've applied for this course in DCU M.Sc. in Security and Forensic Computing (PAC Code: DC823/DC822) and would love to hear from anyone else who has applied or who has completed this course. I won't hear until mid-August if I have been successful or not, so want to be completely sure that this course it right for me if I am accepted.

    Is this a good course for job prospects?

    Ok I go accepted earlier than expected and have 2 weeks to decide if I really want it, has anyone taken this course?

    I'm a recent graduate from DCU's Computer Applications, and I was considering doing that course. Of all the Masters courses offered by DCU I'd say that that's the best one. Be warned though, it's apparently a difficult course, especially the Cryptography module presented my the awesome Mike Scott (his lectures are pretty awesome - you're in for a treat!). So I'd say that it's a very worthwhile course indeed, just make sure that you work really hard at it.

    I'm not really afraid of a challenge, though a little concerned that 3 years of maths in university back in the nineties has been obliterated from my memory and I will find myself lost in number theory.

    I guess I really need to find out if there will be good job prospects from this qualification, otherwise I may as well travel a little and then look for an I.T. job doing what I currently do.

    Hey, I got accepted for it - Starting in September. I know a guy who did it, he said it's a really good course. Are you doing it full-time or part-time?

    Hey congratulations dlofnep.
    I am thinking of deferring now. Was thinking of doing it full time but now not sure I can commit to 12 months of no work. Decisions decisions.

    Shame about deferring it, but you know what's best for yourself. In any-case, the course is very good from what I've heard. I'd say do it when you get a chance.

    I did the course last year but no jobs to be found. So I moved to the States - plenty of jobs here!

    Anyway, the crypto is pretty difficult.
