On the weekend of October 15th-17th there's a darts festival in the Gleneagle hotel Killarney with a PDC players championship tournament on Sunday the 17th and a non ranking tournament on the Saturday. Phil Taylor is doing an exhibition there on the Friday night. You can pay in at the door on the Saturday and Sunday to the tournaments and personally I think this is a great weekend.

I second that, it is a great weekend it's worth the long drive from Donegal for me!!

it use to be great weekend but there i going to be changes this year on the sunday the PDPA are going to keep most of the games up stairs in the arena while only putting selected games on the stage. so its not going to be the sme for me as it was the last 3 years .

fri and sat will be the same as every year

but on sunday upstairs in the inec will be where the games will be played and there will NOT be public admision. the public (us) will be down stairs on the floor where there will be games played on the main stage for the duration of the day.
this is the pdpa doings and in a way i can understand that playes dont wanna be hassled just before they play as they warm up ect but i do think this is a huge shame and personaly for me it will not be the same buzz as previous years. a lot of the non dart plays used to go down to cheer on there mate in the hope that they play a pro.

this year if i play on friday and qualify i get to go upstairs with one person and thats it. so anybody with more than one mate will hafto make a choice.

mabe it will work and be a great suscess i think it has been done similar in diff venues on the tour this year and ive been told it worked. i have my doubts.

You got it right there, Mussha, - - - see my post on Killarney Festival in Gleneagle/ INEC 2010
The PDPA pull the strings and we can only wait and see how it will work out.
However, your mates can cheer you on against Phil Taylor in the Masters on the Saturday !

"A PDPA levy of 3% will be deducted from all players who reach the prize fund stages of the Pro Tour Finals"
When did they start that craic (not that it will effect me!)

The 3% PDPA Levy is deducted from all prize money at all Pro Tour events.

Oh right then so never seen that before as I don't think it was on last years entry forms and thought it was a new thing, I might bring in that for the next tournament I hold for the "JB Levy";)

Having been offline since Sunday it's a big disappointment to find out that the Sunday event will not be available to view for the ordinary supporter with the exception of a few games on the main stage. While all PDPA events in the UK are restricted to the public Killarney was always an exception and i thought it made for a great weekend. As i'm only living about 45 minutes from the venue i'll defintley be attending on the Saturday but i'll be giving Sunday a miss.

will there be walk on music for all the games on stage on the sunday event?

music after each game an so on.

if i was a payin member of the public i would like to see the walk on,s callers all that sort opf stuff the keep the crowd going.

but if i was playin upstairs i prob wouldnt want to be put off by music ect down stairs.
