Don't buy coffee or sandwiches on campus i.e. bring your own lunch.

If you really must buy lunch, get the €2.50 deal from Dunnes or Tesco which includes sandwich, drink and crisps, rather than paying extortionate prices on other packed sandwiches.

Also I recommend using the on-campus gym and pool because they're free for students.

Anyone know if it's possible to move in on a sunday? I remember I did that last year, but I don't know what time it was. I will arrive in Dublin on the 12th of september, 3:35, and it will most likely take me until 5:30 PM (at least!) to get me to Maynooth.

Would be great if I could get my key card directly so I won't have to book any other accomodation

    /John

Great advice, often get the meal deal myself and yep, no need to waste money on hot water for showers at home when you can have them free for as long as you like in the swimming pool or the gym.

Also, do your grocery shopping in Aldi. Quality is as good and you save so much. It's crazy the difference in price between Aldi and the other supermarkets in things like cheese, sausages, burgers, drinks etc.

If you bring a jacket out with you of a night and use the cloakroom, save money and protect your health by avoiding takeaways at 2am and instead make a few sandwiches and leave them in your jacket.:)

It's going to be a good year in the college!

I'd recommend, as another way of saving money, to use the medical centre, there are doctors and nurses, counsellors, no need to pay if you can get them on campus.

Academic Advisory Office is a great place too, really good service!
