UPC Remote Not Working

    Used my UPC remote to turn on TV & set top box then went to change channel and the remote was dead..

    Changed the batteries and nothing... just dead.. buttons dont even light up when pressed..

    Has anyone ever seen this before?

    Rang UPC and they never heard of anything like it..

    was advised to take batteries out & leave them out for an hour or 2.. done that & when I put them back in the remote worked...
