OP I actually watched and enjoyed the Hills.
And I dont consider myself unintelligent

Yes it was drivel and pure crap but i watched it anyway.
It was a bit of escapism for god sake. (er like most TV shows?!)

Anyway... I couldnt believe the ending, I dont see why they decided to wrap up that way?

Ill miss it, but yeah they will all totally have spin offs. Heidi has signed up to one since her "separation" from Spencer.

I do think it should hae ended when Lauren went. The last two series werent the same imo.

Thats because the tv watching public are by and large, morons.

Its why shows like The Wire, while universally acclaimed didnt do very well on its initial tv run, why most people look at you with a vacant stare when you say you love stuff like Arrested Development, and why instead of watching shows that challenge you mentally, Joe Public would rather watch z-list celebrities eat bugs for money.

I don't think that's the case to be honest, no matter how you try to define it the Hills is nothing but lowest common denominator car crash television with absolutely no redeeming qualities.

But it wasn't reality though. The whole thing was scripted. Nobody is as hollow, as flat and as .. I don't know.. I've never watched anything more than 5 minutes without my head and stomach going *pop*. If anything, there should be a ban placed on shows like The Hills, The City etc. etc. being discussed here. Or anywhere.

Ah yeah, that's they I put it in quotes. There should be something like uber-qutoes or something. TBH, I think these programmes are actually bad for your health. Anything that can make your eyes twitch, your head hurt and make you want to punch your new tele through the wall has GOT to be bad for you. There should be a warning label.
