Following on from Voltexs thread there. I had dinner with my Dad this afternoon. We always end up talkin about random stuff

and he was tellin me my aunts mam died there yest. She had septicemia and the family is having an open coffin :eek:

Your body doesnt turn a nice colour with septicemia so i couldnt for the life of me understand why theyd want everyone staring at her.Anyhoo..told him i didnt want any of that malarky and wanted to be cremated and he has to plant a tree with my ashes. Yeh ..i know weird conversation over sunday dins but there ya go.He said "fair enough...but you're still a babby and aint goin before me"!Typical Dad..

So,maybe im weird and im the only one whos thought about it.But..if ye have..what would ya have?Cremation,burial,open casket etc?

I would like to be cremated also but i definitely wouldn't want my ashes kept in an urn for years.

Havent thought about where i would like to be scattered yet!

I don't give a sh*t what is done with my body after I die....use it as a stunt double in a deviant snuff film for all I care...it's just meat,blood and bone....all the good stuff is dead.

I definitely want to be cremated.
My husband's ex died there a month ago and she was buried two days after her death. Her dad and the priest were the only people at the funeral:( I thought that was very lonely and sad. When I go I hope there's at least a few peeps that would miss me!

I was at a funeral during the week,and it was an open coffin all the way through the mass. I've been to a lot of funerals,and it was the 1st time i'd seen that. But going by the poll, it obviously happens!
I want my coffin closed and to be buried.

Cremation definately. I'm not a religious person so the last thing I would want is the whole church service funeral thing... Have always thought it would be cool to have my ashes scattered into a volcano but that might be a bit hard to pull off so I would probably just leave it to whoever's left to decide what to do with them, though preferably not kept in a jar ontop of a fireplace!

graves are so expensive to buy these days and my local graveyard wont let you buy a plot now for the family to go into later, but some families that already have 3 people in the grave and that is the limit for one grave are now getting the family member cremated and burying the urn with there ashes in the soil in the grave and putting the name on the headstone.
