I'm considering using http://www.slideshowbox.com/ to host a small photography website.

Has anyone any views on this product?

Any alternatives I should be considering?

If you like Slide Show Box, is there a template(s) you prefer above the others?

I'm considering using a non-Flash template to permit iPad/iPhone viewing. Make sense?

    Thanks.

    D.

There are lots of JQuery libraries that should do something similar. Google for "jquery slideshow" and you should find a script that suits.

Not using flash almost always makes sense.

If it's an actual website, then don't go near Flash.

Most required effects can be achieved without it, and a proper HTML website will give you some chance of achieving SEO.

As someone who specialises in photography websites, believe me you do not need (or want) a Flash website.

    Cheers guys.

Here are a couple of websites that I like........

This one for its sheer, clean simplicity.......

    http://www.marloh.com/HTML/gallery/index.html

Can I achieve something as clean with Slide Show Box? Is it Flash?

I don't like the home page on this one - too busy - but, if you click on a category (e.g. People) I like the grid of thumbnail images. Is this Flash?

Finally, I love this guys work and his site.........

    http://www.thomasbroening.com/#/work/portfolio/1

    Is it Flash?

The key design element for me is thumbnails to one side and a large image in the middle. Can I achieve this without Flash?

    Thanks.

Can't comment on Slide Show Box, as I've never used it, but that site is not Flash, no.

    Absolutely.

Thomas Broening's site is done in Flash, but shouldn't / doesn't need to be, as there's absolutely nothing in there that requires Flash.
