What color braces with trousers?

    I am attending the afters of a wedding this weekend and decided I want to wear a pair of braces instead of a belt, looks better and a good conversation starter considering I know very little people attending!

    I was just wondering what color to wear with my suit? I own a very dark charcoal coloured suit but can only find black braces or grey braces :mad: Its driving me crazy because apparently I should never wear ANYTHING black with my charcoal suit. The shirt i'm wearing is white with blue stripes alternating between thick and thin stripes if that makes any difference.

    Also, is 25mm the most appropriate for a wedding setting? don't want anything to thin or it'll look like i'm holding my pants up with string :D

    Did the person who gave you this advice have an opinion on what colour shoes are appropriate? TM Lewin has a decent selection of braces in various colours and patterns. I think grey braces would look fine with that shirt.
