    Car boot sale in swords.

Resi evil survivour file 1 and file 2 for a fiver. Not exactly rare games but hard to get a copy that cheap. I am happy.

Of course the online part, which was kind of the whole point of the games, is defunct now.

Spare ps2 control pad for a euro.

and the best find of an avarage sale, average for retro games that is, a small tresure trove of saturn games.

    Clockwork knight2
    AMOK
    Earthworm Jim 2

None of them much collectable or rare as far as I know, but they pad out my collection nicely.

The first two were in Clara in Co. Offaly, today was from the same seller in Tuamgraney Co. Clare. He had givin' me the heads up that he was going to try Tuamgraney so I taught I'd see what he had.He really doesn't know what he's selling as today he had a black Gamecube, joypad, memory card (no software though) and he didn't know what it was,he taught it was some kind of VHS player lol.

For a moment there I thought you were after opening Tombi and finding a golf game :D

That's great stuff man, I can imagine that promo Tombi being worth a few quid. Excellent find.

The Onimusha 2 promo case looks amazing too.

Cheers o1s1n,but I tell ya, I nearly wasn't going to bother.I only came back from my holidays late on Saturday evening and there was no guarantee he'd be there.Lucky for me it paid off.Tombi is a great find, shame it doesn't have the retail disc picture though.. I much prefer this one

    big.jpg

Onimusha really does look well, the picture's don't do it justice. You can tell Capcom put a bit of effort into it with the lovely artwork

Was half considering going to a car boot this morning myself, but I was too tired. Kinda wish I had have gone now :P

Promos are full games, not demos. Can't say I've ever played one myself. :(

    Thanks. That's a great find then. :)

Indeed it is! The retail copy is pretty impossible to pick up for anything less than a small fortune. I'd be very interested in seeing how much a promo would be worth.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,183 ✭✭✭✭Atavan-Halen

Was it ever bundled with the PS1 or any accessories?

It'd be interesting to find out more about it.

Was Tombi! ever bundled with any Playstation hardware? I'm fairly certain it wasn't. It was just a 2d platformer that was released at a time when nobody wanted to play 2d platformers. Similarly to Castlevania:SOTN.

    Hmm...

Google is not being helpful, first result when you google Tombi promo is this thread :P

I've a few promo games I got from my friend at konami. They are usually disc only or else have a sleeve with the bare minimum instructions. They typically don't sell for much because collectors like the artwork and packaging.

I've got a promo copy of ready 2 rumble boxing for the DC, a friend who didn't have a DC gave it to me. Not sure where it is now though, have the retail copy which I much prefer due to having packaging/artwork. Not sure that promos are really worth much in general (Tombi on the other hand...)

    Wasn't that expensive I found. ;)
Although I lost out on one auction for it because of postage restrictions, few seconds to go and ebay blocks me - this was after the seller had confirmed the p&p to Ireland in an email.

It really does depend on the game. I can see that Tombi being worth a few as it comes with a nice enough case and has quite a cult following.

Recently saw a promo of Chrono Trigger sell for a tidy sum too. Although that did come with a lovely box.

And as for collectors liking artwork and packaging, I dunno, I would rather something rare and ugly than not so rare and pretty :D

I'd say if you look hard enough you could get it cheapish. But most of the ones I've seen on ebay are around the 70 mark from what I remember. It's priced similarly to SOTN.

Argh! That drives me insane. If I really want the particular item and I'm worried that's going to happen I put a bid down a good while before the end. Don't like doing it, but there's nothing worse than seeing something end for far less than its worth and not being able to bid.

I do hope the promos become expensive. I've promo copies of PD Orta, Vandal Hearts 2 and Symphony of the Night which seem to sell for decent prices in vanilla flavour :)

That Onimusha promo I'd saycould command a decent price, it looks gorgeous.

I only have a promo of Jak 3 on the PS2. Also was at a car boot sale a few weeks ago and spotted some PS3 promos which was kind of interesting. He wanted €8 for them which was a bit more than I wanted to pay.

There were about 5 or 6 left after I bought them. They were at the counter in a basket if you're heading out there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,183 ✭✭✭✭Atavan-Halen

If you're heading out there, could you pick me up one? I need a GB for Metal Gear Solid. Unless Lands is willing to sell his second one. ;P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,345 ✭✭✭landsleaving

Would have picked up more to pass on but I didn't have much cash on me :( Got the second one for someone else so I won't be selling it, sorry man. There's probably still a few there, hopefully anyway, the pink goes great with pokemon blue. :P
