Plasma screen scratched

Ok, I have a Phillips 42" Plasma TV. My beutiful 2 year old decided to play with her brothers toy car on the screen, therefore causing long deep scrapes in the screen. So is it possible to have screen repaired? To my uintrained eye it looks like there is a "plastic" cover over the actual screen and I was hoping this could…

Ballpark for screen replacement - usually @80+% of the cost of TV - expensive.

Your best bet would be to claim accidental damage, if you have it.

EDIT: Just to clarify, cost is usually prohibitive enough to dissuade someone from getting it repaired/replaced.
