giving the prestige WAY too much credit.

No I'm not! First time i watched it it was a good movie second time i watched it I changed my good movie to a fantastic movie so much in there that I missed first time round and actually my brother gave me another possible explanation that I never spotted. So I beg to differ with you regarding the Prestige.

On Momento I had high expectations but have to say I think its Nolan's weakest movie imho.

Nice Q&A with Nolan regarding Inception Batman and his thoughts on the trend in 3D movies (not a big fan)

Yowza!! Funnily enough, the last time I was so excited to see a movie of this calibre was exactly 2 years ago and it was from the same director!

I've seen all the TV Spots from around the world on YouTube and while they don't reveal anything about the movie (Bar showcase one certain scene) they are a testament that drip-feeding you Chris Nolan's films just makes you wanna have more. An advertisment company's dream.

This film + The Expendables..............and maybe, to a lesser extend, Tron 2 are the movies that will cover the 2010 wishlist for me.

I think saying a film is better than a book is like saying travelling by flying is better than trousers, two completely different things. But it was a great adaptation, they changed quite a bit of the book but left the overall story more or less the same. I think Christopher Priest was impressed also.
Oh yeah, can't wait for Inception.

no it isnt, you can directly compare the narratives, you dont have to take cinematic elements into account at all

Peter Travers has given it 3 and 1/2 stars. Review isn't up yet, but here's an excerpt:
The mind-blowing movie event of the summer arrives just in time to hold back the flow of Hollywood sputum that's been sliming the multiplex. 'Inception'...will be called many things, starting with James Bond Meets 'The Matrix.' You can feel the vibe of Ridley Scott's 'Blade Runner' in it, and Nolan's own 'Memento' and 'The Dark Knight.' But 'Inception' glows with a blue-flame intensity all its own. Nolan creates a dream world that he wants us to fill with our own secrets. I can't think of a better goal for any filmmaker. Of course, trusting the intelligence of the audience can cost Nolan at the box office. We're so used to being treated like idiots. How to cope with a grand-scale epic, shot in six countries at a reported cost of $160 million, that turns your head around six ways from Sunday? Dive in and drive yourself crazy, that's how.

Huh? That doesn't read like a 3.5 star review - the review apparently suggests the movie'll be too clever for most popcorn audiences, and this is a bad thing?

Great movie, it really is one of those films you have to watch a few times to pick everything up and see how well it all fits together.

I watched it once, and it made sense and I saw where things fitted together first time round. Also called the ending about 30 minutes before the ending.

Its a good movie, but not complicated or too intricate to be appreciated on the first viewing.

Well, it's out of 4 stars. So 3.5 is pretty damn good.

Oh right - presumed it was out of 5 stars; you know, like most star ratings would be hehe :)

And this is why star ratings are a bad idea :p

I am genuinely surprised that I've still managed to avoid theatrical trailers for this! There's a possibility I'll get to see this almost 'blind'. Although I did end up staring at the poster the other day for a few minutes just going 'wow'.

I can't wait for this one, trying not to get my expectations up too high but looks like the type of movie I'll love!

Just watched the trailer, hadn't realised there was such a great line up; Cillian Murphy..yes.

Plus I know the music and sounds of impending doom will have me hooked..

Great book. Great movie. The movie wins by the narrowest possible margin :)

So did I, weird dream involving Leo being chased around by shadows on a wall.

I remember thinking that the film was a load of crap with an awful soundtrack from Zimmer, too! :pac:

Actully got to see the movie in Amsterdam the week before last. It is awesome. The cgi stuff is truly jaw dropping stuff. We were asked not to comment on the movie though so that's all I'll say :-)

Me too - I'm ignoring the reviews and want to see it as fresh as possible. That the majority of reviews are positive is great to hear though.

Haha, I was worried that I'd get a backlash for putting so much temptation in front of people. :P

I haven't read any reviews myself, just thought I'd show where the film stands right now in regards to reception from the critics. No negative reviews so far, that is until Armond White gives his verdict.

Strange the way I cannot book Inception in advance at Cineworld or anywhere else. You can book showings of toy story 3 right now and it comes out a week after Inception...

Am I the only one who thought the twist in the Prestige was very obvious?
