    I should not be the only one with this song in my head so I decided to inflict it on the rest of you. Seeing as how it's one of your fault it's in my head in the first place. :D

    And 'inflict' it you have. >_< That's not gonna go away any time soon. No!!! :(

    No there's two a day. The year after I did my JC they moved English Paper II to the second day, and put Home Ec in its place. This year, due to the mistake they made last year with the papers, each subject that has two papers must have each on a different day, one in the morning, one in the afternoon. That means that Paper II for me will be tomorrow at 14:00, finishing at 17:20.
    Mine is the easiest year to have the Leaving Cert ever.

    The only exams that I'll have on the same day are Accounting and Physics, which, as much as I love Physics, is the worst combination they could've thought of =/

    For a second there I couldn't remember my graduation song at all and my graduation was only like a week ago! Ours was 'Keep holding on'. I'm sure tar will get all excited over that.

    The first paper was waaaay too easy. I think the topics were too Junior Certish to really show our potential. The theme was 'the future' so it was all climate changey and stuff. There was no diary entry, so I was pretty much forced to write a letter >_< (it was either that, or an interview, or a radio talk which I hate). This is the first time I didn't write a speech because it just wasn't interesting enough. So my essay was a personal essay on what 'freedom' means to me and why I think it's important >_>

    Also for the first time in possibly a long time (because I haven't seen that happen before) there was no picture question. Only a comparison of two book covers.

    Ooh my awesome English teacher gave us, before the end of school, a speech on the importance of books. She told us to eat it and digest it (that's what she says when she means "learn it"). We analysed it in class and stuff, then she said that was coming up.... Well, it did. We were all like o.O

    Anyway I'm quite happy about it. Too easy, yes, but sure I don't even need many points and I'm only aiming for 500.

    hi avril :o:D:D:D

    Mine had rock in the title but cant remember as I didn't go...so here will assume this

    And what does freedom mean to you :pac:
    Ah, sounds as fun as I remember. Similar to your english teacher...for the jc our history teacher(the priest dude) just guessed the questions, they were all right, thanks for the A.

    Just dropping by to say hai guise o/

    to miss anothernight, hope that exam was really easy for ya today :D

    and to Tar...have a laugh on me:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,541 ✭✭✭anothernight

    Well I didn't digest it and I hate writing texts for radio talks, so I didn't do the importance of books thing.

    My letter to future generations was accidentally turned into a speech about how crap we are and how we need to change.
    Freedom... I started by saying that freedom was a concept that's very difficult to define.................... God that was atrocious now that I think about it haha. Stupid lack of a good speech.
    I know I did well so whatever.

    Kinda dreading paper two, but only because I really don't like paper two. It's too long.

    I also got an A in JC History =] Though I bluffed my way through it.

    I studied plenty? I wish =/ Seriously banking on Yeats coming up, though I can write on the other ones too and the quotes always get lodged in my brain by themselves haha

    Oh God I hope it doesn't rain! I don't want the temperature to drop.

    I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
    And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made
    Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honey-bee;
    And live alone in the bee-loud glade

    And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
    Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
    There midnight's all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
    And evening full of the linnet's wings.

    I will arise and go now, for always night and day
    I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
    While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey
    I hear it in the deep heart's core

    gaw know that whole poem off by heart, no idea why
    maybe cos it's near me.

    I wanted Dickenson to come up because I like her poems, just got Plath I think, who is easy.

    I refused to use quotes at all because I think that's a stupid system to grade on. Can write fie without em thankee

    That time of year thou mayst in me behold... bah can't be bothered. I still know Sonnet 73 off by heart from the JC, even though I didn't study it because I was hoping to do well with my two war poems.
    Quotes from To Kill a Mockingbird kept popping up in my head during the exam! Was so weird.
    If you give blankity blank, you get blankity blank. I need a cramming session now so see you guys =]

    Ugh english was so boring, I got pretty much the exact same grade the whole 2 years of LC so I just couldn't have been bothered. The crap that you have to do, we studied Strictly Ballroom and that crap Maeve Binchy book. Our teacher was the laziest teacher ever, any time she didn't have anything planned she just stuck on Strictly Ballroom......again.

    Anothernight ignore that :P
    English is great fun yeahhhhh

    That was my JC math's teacher's motto. She was great. Every time I do some sort of test I repeat that in my mind before starting. Bah I feel like I don't really need to study now. I know my quotes and my poets and the comparative texts... Why the hell should I study?
    But yeah I'm going now! (waiting for happy song to finish to set me in the mood)

    Bye bye!

    They always do that same grade thing, how annoying. They can mark you how they like too, I dont like that, right or wrong is better! Your books/whatever the ballroom thing is sound even worse than ours...silas marner etc. Booorrrring. They used to do LOTR on the LC, now that would have been fun.
