Anyone with a ticket for row 21 for Pearl Jam, should sell it.

There were just not letting that row stand-up.

Even the band called them, "to cool for school" - guess they thought those people had a choice.

We were up in lower A section sitting - first time ever for a metal gig - and it was class. Unusual for a couple of us to watch it from there (the age thing) but with the band and the venue it was effin great.

The reaction for the support bands and RAGE was a credit to everyone who rocked. Drinking in the stands rocked, the band rocked and the interest Rage shown in the performance capped it.

Apperently we all have brothers and sisters in Greece too, what more do we need. A great night.

Drinking in the stands rocked, the band rocked ....

Sure did .. haven't enjoyed a gig that much in years.

    Fcuking 'rocked' is right!

Think she fell on my leg so I picked her up and two guys put hers arms around them and I assumed they brought her to the medic, about 5 minutes later she was back in and swaying and had to be brought out again.

Yeah - I gave her a couple of chances to prove she was capable of standing up but in the end I managed to get her out without argument. Rules of the pit and all that. That's why I love rock gigs - the crowd are always awesome. Only gig I've ever been to that was chock full of assholes was one where fans of the Thrills were present....

I'm not into moshing we'll hang near the back.
    We'll move up a little.
    First song drinks went flying.
Third song was up the front going crazy.
    Amazing gig.

Really surprised taxis let us in after that. The stink of booze and sweat off me by the end. Haven't been that soaked coming back from a gig in a long time.

Great gig. High energy from the crowd and band, they didn’t disappoint. Saw them first at Feile in 94 and they are still savage. The Internationle was good touch alright, as was the Palestinian flag somebody had up the front. The comments de la Rocha made about Gaza and the Flotilla were spot on.

Thanks for putting up the clips Outlaw Pete. Makes me wish they were playing again tonight!

Was able to ring my tshirt out afterwards, I was a sweaty mess. I had planned on just hanging at the back for the gig and just enjoying it. I think they played Know Your Enemy 4th and I just lost it. By about 7 songs in I had gone from the sound stage to the barrier at the front. Wanted to take a few pics for the sake of it but was afraid of my phone flying off. But did take a few while they were yapping...

    Unbelievable gig.

If Zak de le Rocha had asked all 15,000 people to march on the Banks or the Israeli Embassy or anyone - they would have. that was the kinda vibe that was there last night. Just amazing.

Epic gig, but probably the best story I have from the night (if just for the oddity that it is) has to involve a random guy near me during Wake Up. I'd say he was never as happy to hear Zack giving a long political speech, because pretty much the whole way through said speech, and the consequently quietened song, the poor guy was crawling around on the ground looking for his wedding ring which had fallen off. About 5 seconds before Zack finished, and the music (and hence the crowd!) picked up, he found it, and thus managed to be back on his feet before everyone went mental again.

It sucked for him to lose it in the first place, and I really felt for the guy, but he has to be one of the luckiest SOBs ever to find it again at all on the floor within 15 rows of the front at an RATM concert, let alone for it to be timed like that!

I don't have the words for how awesome that gig was. Had been a bit worried cos we had seated tickets but everyone was on their feet for the entire thing, thankfully - plus it was pretty cool seeing the huge crowd on the ground going so crazy. Gogol Bordello were one of the best support acts I've seen too.

<--This. If the energy in that room could be harnessed, the fightback would have started right there and then.

There are some photos posted here on state.ie:

I hadn't moshed in a long time but for Rage, I had to join in the fray. It was nice to see everyone helping each other up if they fell down. My clothes were completely soaked afterwards. I like the fact that they didn't have a fenced off pit area like the old Point. I was near the front for most of the gig but for the last few songs, I needed to get some water. When they launched into Killing in the Name I moved forward again for one last hurrah.

Unreal! The Gallows and ?Gogel Bordello? were class as well, the lead singer and guitarist from the Gallows got into the crowd, and the wall of death too, just class! The security there was very lenieant, thank ****.

Just one thing though, did any one aged between 18-19 have trouble getting a drink, they told me you had to be born in 1990 to get a drink?! Never heard of this policy before, but apart from that was a class gig!

Zac De La Rocha displayed the fact that he is economically incompetent, and has no business commenting on matters of financial stability. Greece,Portugal, Spain and Ireland are in this mass, thanks to socialist spending policies. Equally, the protesters in Greece are violent advocates of civil disobedience, and i will not stand toe to toe with them.

Otherwise, it was one of the most immense gigs I have ever been at. RATM = ROCK

Yeah, Zack's pretty economically incompetent alright, unlike the economically competent politicians and bankers we're blessed with :)

Did anyone take a transcript of Zacks' speech on Gaza?

Whether he knows it or not, the policy he proffers is pretty much in line with what was done in these countries. Hence we are faced with an insovency crisis.

Actually hate when bands slate the people in the stands, lot of people are only there coz the standing tickets sold out and for other reasons.

I'm 22 and got ID'd, had some with me thankfully, then they wouldn't let my sister get anything even though we're twins :pac:, just went across to the bar the other side then :P
