    Hey Guys,
Recently bought a 1TB external hdd. I have the drive attached to my home router (Samba) and it is mapped in each computer connected to the network.
The drive has 2 partitions one is FAT32 for read/write (media) and the other NTFS for read only (purely USB backup.
They problem I have is that anyone connected to the network either through Ethernet or WiFi can access the drive.
I am concerned about that but also the potential of my wireless network being hacked and infomation exposed.

Is there any security measures that could be implemented. (passwords, share permissions ect. ?)

    Thanks in advance,
    Rockin

samba is a pig to set-up in the first place but yes there are was to configure security on samba.

Weather your router supports all that voodoo is another question. Read the manual.
