Hi, I've tried to transcribe the route here (may still be saving) http://bikeroutetoaster.com/Course.aspx?course=134004
Think it's basically right apart from the start and finish in Greystones (if anyone has a better draft please share).

It's not _that_ hilly, I've already done the same total altitude a few times.
But it does goes on and on. And on and on...
Just my perspective - I'll probably live to rue this post when walking up Slieve Man.

Cheers Last Gap, I knew those links already, but have a nerdy preference to bikeroutetoaster over mapmyride.

Unfortunately I am being shipped off to China for 3 months by my company....grrr, as a result I won't be able to do the WW200. I have already entered but haven't received my tags/number etc. yet.
So if anyone wants an entry pm me your name & address and I'll get the missus to post it off when it arrives.

Did this yesterday, thinking the climbs and relative flat after the kipure descent would be good for me

    http://www.mapmyride.com/route/ie/dublin/377127531462094773

my longest cycle to date on a fully locked out full suspension... prep wise for the w100 is this reasonable? I felt fine after, just hungry and my knees a little sore, probably get another longish spin like this in and few shorter ones in before the day... wishing i had a road bike but feel it'd be a good achievement on this and helping me build up my strength on it

Its taken now, gimmeaminute is taking it.
Work cancelled my China trip on Friday but I'm not fit enough to do it now seeing as I stopped training for it when I found out i was going :(
At least the ROK and Etape Hibernia are back on the cards :D

If you can do that, you can do the 100, no problem. Keep up the mileage until next weekend and then take it easier for the week coming up to the w100.

My entry pack arrived today and I'm number 8, my lowest number in any sportive.

Is anyone doing an "unofficial 200"? i.e. stop for food elsewhere along the route?

I may. But will depend on SWIMBO.

Excellent. I'm hoping that either you, Blorg or someone else might be able to select 2 or 3 stops that are decent quality.

I think a proper stop at the Hippy Cafe is mandatory.

Yeah. Fancy meeting it going up the Sugar Loaf and doing a bit of a spin, not necessarily the 200.

...........maybe knock off at Laragh on the way back and have a six course meal.

    Got mine. No.11.

Just add 3 to calculate the amount of hours it will take me to get round.

Got out on the bike this evening for the first time really in nearly a month. Felt great to be back out, just up to Enniskerry and back, 28kms in an hour.
Calf / knee is still not right, so will definitely be doing the 100 rather than the 200 - but still looking forward to it!

If I was to do it unofficially I think that one of two things might be observed
    1. Do a slightly different route (Dublin start not Greystones).
    2. Maybe a different day?

I was sort of thinking of avoiding the scrum that is Crone Wood to Liam Horner and instead approach from Kilakee.
    Food stops,
Somewhere in Hollywood for Water/light refreshment.
Lauragh for cake and coffee to fuel us up for the drive home.

    Got mine - 6 (or maybe 9:))

Hopefully that's not the number of hours I'm expected to do it in.....

    It certainly is:
    ...
Second, complete the Wicklow 200 in less than 7 hours....

Unfortunately unless that Icelandic volcano bursts back into life between now and the 13th, I'll be heading off to Miami for a "business" trip while you lot are grinding your way up various climbs in Wicklow

I got 5 and 6 - unfortunately together. Still 56 is my lowest ever number in one of these. Will have to be more awake/bored at work next time. Looking forward to it.

I might be too. The trek to Greystones is a pain.

    1836!

The number of metres into the WW200 before I start to regret signing up for the pain?

On a serious note, what's the best time for a WW200 virgin to hit the road?
Do the majority leave en masse at 7, and is that where you want to be if you're looking for groups to help you around?

7 or so, i.e. earlier the better would be best for a first timer imo. you'll in all likely hood loose a lot of the groups around you but get dragged along for a few km by different clubs/groups as they past, can really break it up/give you a speed boost...

My WW200 entry is still available if anyone wants it (preferably collection from Clonsilla or Dublin 2).

Damn, by this reckoning it'll take me 1765 hrs to do it :(
